This probably seems like a silly or even stupid question to some but I'd like some input. The reason I'm asking is because I play on bovada and they have so many different MTT's picking one can be a task. Especially if you're trying to find an edge.

I've been playing the nightly 30k with no success lately. It costs 55 dollars to buy into and usually around 600 people play in it. The other one I usually play is a 10k and it only costs 10 dollars to enter but more than 1k people are usually in that one. I did manage a 3rd place finish in it awhile ago though.

Aside from those two there are a dozen others running daily from all sorts of payout amounts and buy ins. Which ones do you play and why? I want to play the higher payout ones but I don't prefer playing 1k fields online at the moment. The only thing I fear about some of the tournaments with a lesser payout relative to the buy in is that even though there are less people there will be more sharks.

The 30k seems to be the best bet but the field is still very large and the only worthwhile payout amounts are at the final table. Also, you only start with 3k chips instead of 5k or 10k. Which I absolutely hate! with the 12min levels you're not deep stacked for long unless you manage to chip up in the first hour.

Any suggestions?

The best tournaments are the ones in which you are better than the average players, as simple as that. If fields are large, big wins are less likely to come, but they will eventually. If you are looking for tournaments in which its easy to make big money then unfortunately you need to know they don't exist

mtts have too much varience. sngs n cash are the best Thing to earn consistent Money .. mtts you can go 100s without cashing n 1000s before winning.. so it hurts br playing mtts. gl at the tables

I know there's no such thing as easy money but a little table selection goes a long way.

The variance is higher but somehow I find them to be fun. Making a final table against a 1k field makes me feel much more accomplished than winning any sng. Not to mention it's nice to make a big score every now and then.

I mostly play SNG but I've been mixing these in as practice for a live event I'm trying to qualify for in Feb.

Like was said before, find a tourney where you think you have the edge and also play the ones that suit your bank ballance. $55 a throw and not getting anywhere tells you something. Drop down to the $20-$30 range, preserve you BR and see how you fare.

mtts you can go 100s without cashing

without cashing 'significantly'.

Although fields are softer on bodonka, I wouldn't suggest playing the $55 buyin regularly unless you have a decent sized bankroll & you figure you're better than avg. player in that tourney.
Personally I would prefer multi-tabling 5x $11 buyin MTT online over 1x $55.

As far as looking at how much one can make in the tourney... I think that's another potential pitfall as well. I think it's almost always better to look at the longrun & longterm when it comes to most MTT's.

Seriously though, which ones do I like playing ?? Umm.. the $215 Sunday majors OBVIOUSLY.

I usually mix in some cheaper ones too.

While I'm certainly above the average player on bovada I think it's hard to say where I am in that specific tourney because I haven't played it enough really say.

But thanks, that's sound advice. I'm not an mtt grinder so for me it's kind of a fun treat to play them and I've been making the mistake of thinking very short term rather than long term. I play so few that I don't even bother downloading them into my PT. I should change my approach.

$215 Sunday Majors? I'll have to give one a shot.. Right after I trek through the UP and into canada!

Play sng 180 max and preferably regular and not turbo or hyper. You can also go for the 10 max fifty50 table where you have a better chance of making money if you can play tight.
