Hey all,

Just looking for some advice, Ive been playing online poker for the last 6-8 months (been learning how to play for the last year) , Playing mainly buy in range from 2.20 to 5.50.

I play around 10 a week (only in the last month was only 5ish before that ) Ive cashed around 15-20% (Guessing) of them but most of them only winning 3xbuyin which i use to buy in to my next one.

I have how ever final tabled Twice, Coming 2nd and 3rd.
Total cash out to date $2900.

Im happy with my progress, But what to know what my next step is, I really want to advance my skills.

Should i play less tournys with bigger buy ins ?
How much better are my odds with less players?
Am i being greedy wanting to win more faster?
Should i just study more?

Cheers

Tournament poker is the most variance affected type of poker, so you shouldn't immideatly move up the stakes and get greedy just beacuse you've hit 2 final tables :)

Keep studying and playing at this level - you seem to be doing well at it ;)
And if you want to earn more increase the number of tourneys you play, not the buy-in :)

Really focus at your current stakes with being in control of pot sizes and getting value calls on the river during early middle stages through the bubble. Playing with a stack size of 35bb to 45bb is probably the most noticeable difference in in a higher staked MTT.

Stay where the grass is green for the moment also as stated above if your more focused on long term results. If your roll is healthy and you've had a strong week you may reward yourself with a Sunday tourney in the $11-$25 buy-in to satisfy your view of bigger prize pools. You'll find most of the same players anyway. Take notes! Your racing the same trail with most of the same opponents along the way until you hit $40 and above. Maybe learn another poker variant at the smallest of buy-ins to keep your head on a swivel too.
