I'm curious about what you prefer, both in regards to playing for pleasure, and for ROI.

Full table STTs pay 3 places , 2 table pays 4, 5 table pays 7, 20 table pays 27, etc.

Personally, I find the STTs have the best chance of ITM but find the 180 player gives best ROI (and granted that's from a minuscule sample compared to what some of you play). Unfortuntely, I don't often have 2 hrs + to commit to playing.

So what do you prefer, and why?

These days I would prefer to smack my head against a brick wall, would have less impact on my br than how I'm running.

I know not exactly the feedback you are looking for lol. I enjoy all variations that you have listed tbh and played some of all of them last night on stars (usual bad run, pff maybe I just suck and should know I'm going to lose the 80/20's and run into donks and fish with AA right lol). Haha, actually sizing up 6max stt's a little last night but didn't run well and its taking a little adjusting as well.

But yes ROI wise, the bigger the field the higher the possible ROI but also the higher varience so you need a larger sample to get a true feeling of your actual ROI long term.

i prefer 6max turbo stt's. and i generally load some 180s on the side as they are a nice bankroll boost when you win one :)

I find most fishies swim in the STSG's.....I've padded my roll in the past with these. I do love dabbling in MTT's though trying to hook a nice pay day once and a while. I basically fund my MTT's through STSG's.

ROI doesn't necessarily give the full picture or even a particularly good one. For instance, assuming the same # of tables, the same buyins and the same amount of playing time, would you rather have a 25% ROI in MTTs where your average playing time is say 3 hours, or 20% in STTs where it's 1 hour. While this is an arbitrary example, my point isn't about the specific numbers. It's that ROI's utility as a yardstick is limites.

I enjoy them all. MTT is probably my favorite but I player fewer of them online due to variance and time committment.

Usually I go by how much time I have to invest. If I only have a couple mins (like waiting for a MTT to start) then I'll play cash. If I have about an hour or so, I'll play STT. If I have a few hours I'll play MTT. If I have all day I go play a live MTT.

Generally I prefer Multi-table sng's. Turbo ones.. 45 man to 360 man.

I find the field is usually softer than the single table games, my ROI long term has been much better in them then the STT's as well. They also don't require the time commitment of the bigger MTT's.

I like to mix it up. I enjoy MTTs more but it's higher variance and you have to commit more time so I play whatever I'm in the mood for. If I play MTTs though I prefer turbos. As for STT games I find KO SNGs most enjoyable because donks like to shove light when after your bounty.

I rather like the STT, turbo 45 players, and secondly MTT. That also depends on the time I spend

I personally have always like to play mtt over the sng games simply because of the prise pool. I often play the guarantee tournaments live and online and lots of circuit events .If I want to kill some time I will occasionally play A single table sng,but has nothing to do with roi or itm finishes. All that stuff really doesnt matter to me,I tend to look for the good tournaments that offer a good blind structure and good amount of chips and obviously prise pool.

Time as you mentioned determines what i play. Wish i had all day everyday, even though id go nuts. Stts if im short on time and Mtt if i have time. I prefer MTT because when im on, im itm... ;) Both are great if your great. 1 full table for me is good enough. Just play solid and make that profit having fun. Good luck to you buddy.

i play both so no complain here, but sometimes i feel i'm running better at sngs and some weeks i feel better playing mtts, and of course i have not played to have a final choice but because i like both i'll keep playing both

one thing to consider, sngs are little better because they are always available (at least nl holdem at ps) and you can multitable the same sng, by the other hand mtts once one is busted then needs to wait until the next similiar (but never the same) mtts starts,

As a US player, I can't explain how much I miss the never ending availability of 180mans. I always did better in <300 man tourneys, I think it was the right combo of prize pool and variance. I play STT occasionally but prefer to just multi-table cash games if I'm worried about time. Plus, there is no better feeling in poker than winning a MTT.
