Hi,

I would like some opinions on the listed below:

I'm a microstakes player and try all form of poker cash sng MTT. I really was trying to become successfull at cash games but I couldn't.

In exchange I had some SNG and MTT winnings (microstakes) 10.000 dollars between 2014 and 2014, playing SNG and MTT mostly in the weekend.

I FT 6 big field MTT in one year, even winning the weekly 30.000 VIP MTT in PS.

I was playing pretty tight aggresive, taking small risks.

The last FT that I had was on the end of 2014.

Of course I did a big mistake and withdraw almost all winings and now I'm still struggling at microstakes.

Now it seems that I can't get there, and I think my game has improved and I'm playing looser and much aggressive, but really seems much easier one year ago to reach the final table, even if there was more than 3000 player at the table.

My question is: The micro MTT became thougher or my aggresivve play is the one that make me lose money. Also I'm playing very good poker when I reach the last 50 but I'm getting sockout KK vs AA, or this kind of thing.

As i know and my own opinion that in MTT or SNG main rule is patience. :D
No aggressive and game by flop :D.

Yes, patience and endurance. Bad beats are inevitable, it's all about perseverance. If you're confident in your game, maybe you need more volume. Maybe not enough data last year. Whatever it is, the MTT and SNG realm is improving, but not on a scale where you should be a losing player now.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

I was thinking also that I'm playing too aggressive and I'm spewing chips.

I remember that last year I was playing pretty conservative and it seems easy for me to reach the final 25 in a 2000 5000 players MTT.

I will be more conservative and I hope and will have soon a final table:)

I can say like others here patience is key. However I think playing very aggressively (not over-aggressively) post flop in position is where the difference in the game is made! Rarely do my Cbets get called on the flop and almost never do they call a 2nd barrel.

However playing aggressively out of position is going to be the end of you. Its hard to win a pot out of position and even harder to start winning multiple pots OOP.

I think you basically got it now, Play tight early,, play boards aggressive in position, and start loosening up around the money bubble because a good 1/3 of the field are trying to atleast min cash and you can get to the FT alone from the blinds off most of these players..

Hope this helps and best of luck on the felt!

Yeah it's a very good advice. I play tight early, but lately I like to take shots with pairs, suited connectors, of course from late position.

I'm usually building a medium stack in the first 90 min, around 10000-15000 chips, but then, If I'm losing one pot (they don't fold when I fire a second barrel), I get in 10 11 BB and wait for a hand, go all in and usually I'm losing because this all is made very loose (A5o, KJo, etc or any small pair).

And on the bubble in general I'm taking risks. Sometimes, of course I go bust:)

When we play a few times per week we can stay firm with the rules. But when we are more comfortable the mistakes came. Make a strategy and be firm.
