re: Poker & MTT VARIANCE
I feel your pain! I was bubblegirl yesterday And I feel like that even puts some extra pressure on todays games as I sure as hell dont want that happening again today!!
Each time I register for an MTT I try to remind myself to be mentally prepared for a 6 hour game! Nothing worse than getting 5 mins into a new game and realising you shouldnt have due to tiredness, boredom, lack of concentration etc
Once you are playing your hands well, I wouldnt worry about busting out! It happens to us all too often! Just take some satisfaction from knowing you played well, the cards just didnt go your way.
If you are aware of mistakes you made throughout the game (& if your like me your brain keeps replaying them over & over) try to identify your weak spots and put some study in for those areas!
If the variance is coming from dropping cash and not binking, then maybe try moving down a stake level so it doesnt feel like such a major hit when you dont place. If your only losing 1 buy-in out of, lets say 100, then you know you have plenty more opportunities and the variance wont hit as hard.
Best of luck, hope you bink soon (& me too )
