So I just got done playing in the nightly 2k on carbon, 722 entries and I made the final table and finished 9th (got flushed out on the river) re-buying only twice. The buy-in was $2.20, and I cashed for $16.40.
After the tournament was over I felt a little let down, not because I didn't win but, holy hell 7 hours for $12.00? That's roughly $1.7 an hour. And right now I am still building my BR ( we are getting there! but even though I have the roll right now for up to $5 MTTs, are these little ones even worth it, should I just keep building my roll then come back to full on MTTs when I can play at the $10+ range?
First place in the tournament was $220, which would have made my hourly rate insane. But we all know, that first places are few and far between. I cash over 60/70% of the time, which makes my overall MTT play breakeven. But all those hours. Don't get me wrong I am happy I am cashing and learning but the time comittment vs hourly rate for these little buy-ins.
So do I sacrifice some experience and come back or keep the knife sharp and keep playing for my daily MTT pittance?
