Hello all,

My question for everyone is what they would do in my spot?

I'm playing in a pretty big field MTT, I have about 80 big blinds at the time of this hand and I'm in the big blind.

I'm dealt AdKd - so I'm loving the situation so far. UTG+1 open shoves for about 17 big blinds and it folds around to the small blind who shoves over the top with about 68 big blinds.

Would anyone ever consider folding here?

A little addition information, it was the beginning-ish of the tournament and I didn't have any history with either of the players involved in the hand. Also I didn't see either getting out of line before the hand.

I snap called.

Your obviously are dealing with 2 made hands already,,,hoping for an ace? I think it`s a pretty weak call, but how did it turn out?

stakes matter. never folding this at small or micro stakes say under $10. always calling utg for 17, might check some reads vs the caller, but it can't be to o bad

AKs in the big blind

When you're opponent overshoves for 68bb (over 17bb open shove) for me this means following:
1. SB calling range vs UTG+1 17bb open shove should be 88+ AJs+ AQo. So in theory he should have these hands (SB can call wider if he believes UTG+1 is open shoving too much).
2. When SB overshoves 68bb, he is probably not doing it with AA or KK, maybe not even with QQ. So I would give him a range like JJ-88 AJs+ AQo+. AKs has 56% equity vs that range. To me this is a pretty clear call, also we cover our opponent.
3. We may argue for calling of with AKo. Probably we don't want to get it in early in the tournament with AKo for 68bb which gives us more reasons to call with AKs which also allows us not to overfold.

Turned out great, UTG+1 had 77 and the small blind hand AQo. Hit a king on the turn.

yup I'm calling the shoves for sure. If they woke up with aces or kings so be it.

My solution, call high they go, a pocket pair up to Queens or ACE high.

no reason to risk going out right now, so early and with 80bb, fold

I take this behavior as arrogance, and especially your card is not the last in the ranking of the winners. It is necessary to adequately respond to such insolent, say Bank rate
