Im pretty much solely focussing on MTTs at the moment and need somewhere to post my results, good hands, bad hands, interesting hands and other general crap about the tournaments I play. I'm sure there will be a few others who will post in here aswell but I'm not sure if it will get enough use to make it monthly...

Yeah, me too.

Do you guys ever feel that you are better than your results have shown you? Recently, I have been getting that feeling. But I still gonna work on my game.

I'd love to hear your results.

Last few days have been horrible, been getting it in good most of the time just to be hammered by the cards. Either that or my shoves have been hitting the AA/KK brick walls. This was the other day, I thought I would have a go at a $24 tournament. 858 people and we were down to 34, got this hand against the last real fishy guy at the table. Winning would have put me up in the top 10 but just couldnt do it. Anyway I'm gunna take a couple days off online poker and play a couple of live tourneys :)

what a fish, calling your re-raise with A9 then getting massively lucky on the flop

this rubbish happens all the time, some people just cant press fold!

unlucky

So, you're saying you want people to fold then they have a worse hand than yours? And I guess by this logic, you only want them to call when they have a better hand, right?

So, I'm doing a little personal challenge on pokerstars. I am to play 100 x $1.10 MTTs (1000 players capped). I think this will help me improve on the midlate-late stages of my MTT game. It's a lot of players, but not not as big as other micro MTTs that can have up to 5K+ players. So, I shouldn't have much of a problem running pretty deep in these.

1st place is $180, so I would only have to win 1/100 to profit from it. Hopefully I do a lot better.

There is no start and end date to this challenge, I'll just play whenever I can.

Sounds like a nice little challenge for ya. Do you have any specific goals? as in you want to just profit or be above a specific ROI, ITM? Or you want to win one of the hundred?

The last couple of live games I have played I have been knocked out in a similar fashion. I have been down to about 10 - 15bbs and been on tables full of regular players. The regular players I talk about here are not good players, they just play regularly. They love to limp, even when they are out of position and only have a 5 or 6bb stack and 95% of the time they will just complete the small blind if it folds around to them.

Now in the past 6 months that I have been playing with these guys I have had great success shoving over their completion to take their blinds. I think since I play generally tight at the start and do very well in these tourneys they give me a lot of credit for a hand. The last two times I have played however I have shoved over their completion and they have called me. One of them called for about 3/4s of his stack with QTo and the other was only for a bout 1/4 of his stack and he showed KTo. In both hands I have had absolute crap as I have been pushing ATC.

This has got me wondering if they are starting to figure out they should be calling a lot wider than what they have been, or is it just because it has happened twice in a row that has got me thinking this.

Calling when yeah you know your behind but hope to get lucky is ludicrous.

period.

Especially if you have a tight image you have shown that whenever you raise and are aggressive on the flop or whatever, you have the nuts, or a strong hand none the less but some shithead with a rag thinks NO NO by a-6 is good here, and hey you have a,k.. but what happens oh he catches his 6.. typical really... see it sooo many times... should never made that stupid shove in the first place... that kinda play is why I'm so reserved to shove 10,8 suited or whatever after a raise.. cause so many will insist whatever rubbish hand they raised on is still good. no matter what

My main goal is just to profit it from it. I'm not looking for a specific ROI or ITM% finish. Also, I'm looking to improve my overall MTT game, but 180 man SNGs are just too small and I don't have enough time to complete the 5K+ player MTTs...so these are just perfect for me.

You're looking at this completely the wrong way, though. We want players calling our shoves with weaker hands when it comes to poker. Thats how we make money/pick up chips and improve our stack. We want to make our opponents to make the mistake of folding their better hands and calling with their weak hands. AK vs A6 or AQ vs A9, you're in a dominating position to win. Will you lose a few times? Yes, but this is how the game goes.

I envy you all for having the time to play MTT's, Last week had two decent cashes, and im itching to play more, but, i know i do not have the time for it :p.

I don't think there is a more exciting way to play poker, than reaching a final table of a large field MTT :D.

LOL, goofing around in a 100FPP rebuy satellite MTT trying to win a seat to Sunday's $370 ME qualifier. Why don't I get these hands at the stakes I normally play??? Somehow it doesn't feel as sweet...
