MTT Blues: Stuck at the tight table...

Stuck at the tightest table of the MTT.
The MTT leaders are at 40K in chips and everyone at this table ia at 4K max because no one will bet.
It feels like there's no way you will get the chance to accumulate chips because your at the "poor table".
God forbid you start to get a little crazy on these guys because if they call they have aces or kings and you're screwed.
It's a $1.10 tournament people, bet!
sigh.

For next time...If their tight, lay the smack down on their asses with some well timed bets. If they react, you simply fold and lose the minimum. If they fold as you say they are doing frequently, then you will be picking up more pots than you are losing...win!

What's the problem? If there are no bets, start betting. Steal the blinds, it's a tight table, you will build your stack easily!

Sounds like you are playing the exact same way as the other people at the table that you are complaining about.

Start raising with some marginal hands,pick up the blinds but fold to 3bet.

I can relate to this.

All you can do (as I'm sure you know & are doing) is to widen your own range & steal, steal, steal (< nothing needs to be 'well-timed' about it... because you'll be doing it ALL the time).

The scenario you're describing can be a real f'n drag (imo) during the 1st hour of a rebuy. You look in the lobby & see a couple dozen stacks above 40,000 chips & you're sitting there desperately attempting to increase your starting stack.

Plus when you start stealing people will begin to play back at you and then BAM, you wake up with KK or AA. It doesn't even have to be that good. When you start getting played back at, AK, AQ, QQ is just as good because people are playing back at you with a weaker range.
