Hi guys.

Bit of advice required if you can help.

I`ve done ok YTD playing poker. I play Pstars, Ladbrokes, Titan and partypoker.

I am up about $2,000 since july - a ROI of about 20% (A few tourny wins have helped!!!)

If I play mainly MTT and SNG`s what limits do you think I should play? I`ve about $5,000 to play with and it is, to an extent, play money, but I don`t want to blow it all. (I have taken back my origional investment of $2,000 and banked it)

I play on average $20 buy ins. I`m sure someone said to work it so that you play no more than 100 times your bankroll in MTT & SNG`s. That would mean I could up it to $50 buy ins. What do you guys think???

If you play one Mtt at a time, with 5k bankroll, then $109. (or a mixture of $55, $109, $215)

If you play rebuys, then $22's and $33's

If you play mulitiple MTTs simultaneously then $33/$55

(Remember to reassess fairly regularly if on a long cold streak)

Note :-
This assumes the bankroll has come about from a large dataset (eg over 500 Mtts) and has not come about through a only a few wins. (ie you have a high FT%)

Thats a nice size bankroll Ronald. Why dont you use it for Cash Games? You make make some serious Cash if you played Cash Games right with that bankroll.

Realistically you could play 1/2 LIMIT poker with that bankroll and see some nice returns if you played a solid game...

Contact me if you would like some advice on how to make a bankroll work for you best in Cash Games...

I`m just not comfortable playing cash, for some reason!!!

I have read your posts Allsopp, and I just can`t seem to bluff enough to win cash games.

Having said that, any advice is welcome!!!

Thats why I said play Limit games.:)

Beating No Limit Cash Games takes alot of practice and work. You have to completely eliminate tilt from your game and be able to read people good.

If you play tight aggressive with limit, you can easily beat it. Just try not to make any dumb mistakes and bet draws aggressively. Thats how you make the most money. Getting people in a hand with you and building a big pot when if you hit - you take down a huge pot. If you dont, you invested minimum.

Just for you I`ll give it a go!!! What limits do you suggest and I would think I should tighten up my starting hand requirements and bluff less?

If you are on a draw, say an open ended straight, would you try to see a free card of would you bet?

With that bankroll you can afford to play 1/2, but I recommend sticking to 0.50/1.

Never bluff in Limit and if you have an open ended straight, bet bet bet to get maximum value.

i find that people who stay and see the flop will call the flop no mater what. so if your decide to pull a bluff in limit, remember.
most players wont call you on the turn if they dident make there hand, so dont be afraid to bet the turn, a check raise is the way to go if you make your hand. but wait till the turn to raise.

Hi m8.

I`ve started playing .50/1.00 fixed limit. I`m finding I`m doing OK but I`m not making any cash!!! I could sit for an hour and be lucky if I win $5 !!!

I think where I`m going wrong is that I win a few hands and then loose a biggie!!!

What would u suggest as starting hands?

Cheers m8
