As my bankroll is increasing it is becoming inevitable that I will end up rolled enough to play slightly higher stakes. I play SnG's and mainly play $1 and $2.50 buy in ones. I'm beginning to introduce the 45-Man $3.50 ones and albeit having played a tiny sample I haven't noticed any difference in terms of the skill level of players.

I am curious to know at what buy in does everyone here think you will notice an increased level of skill, a decrease in fish and as a result a smaller ITM% and ROI%? Is it reasonable to categorise the player pools of $1 games with $5 games? Maybe even $7 games? How much difference really is there?

Would love to hear your opinions, even better if you have large $1 buy in SnG's or tournaments maybe as well as $5-$10 ones where you can compare your ITM% and ROI%.

:)

Well I can't say I know what poker stars is like as I can't legally play on that site, but I also play smaller sit and go's especially when I actually cash a little in the freerolls on betonline. I would say yes for betonline playing just up a game $1 to $3 I would say is a jump to better competition. The difference on pokerstars though is it's still the largest poker site in the world online. so you have more people playing that probably aren't the best of the best or are really playing to play etc. so you may not get as much of a variant of the skilled players only moving up a few stakes. just my two cents and opinion. good luck at the tables.

I agree with previous posters that any increase will tend to have an increase in skill level. I think you will start to see a high level at $10-20+ buy ins, but there will always be donks as well.

skill level 1$ to 11$ is the same. The best way to open some more SNG for 1$ than to play for 5$. when ull make your BR (200bi = 200$) then u can mix 1 and 2.5$
