In. I guess.
I'm doing great so far... I haven't played any yet...
LOL. I hear ya. The way I played/ran last month the LESS I play the HIGHER my EV is (or, I should say less negative it is)
. No real concrete goals this month (other than a big dose of rungood).
I think I'll make this a "sorting things out" month. By that I mean putting some thought into just wtf I'm doing with poker and what I'd like to do.
A little background..... Been playing online for about 3-4 years total. Just small stuff never played higher than 10nl cash or about $3-5 MTT and $3 STT. Usually make around $1K profit/year. Just pocket money, really, which I usually withdraw at some point in the year and take a little vacation/ buy some toys/etc.
Don't know if I have the desire/ability to ever make this more than a hobby and, tbh, see nothing really wrong with that. Still every once in awhile I do get to thinking..... "What if....."
Also really, really need to decide which format I'm going to play. In the past the bulk of my winnings have come from cash games. I started-out good at STT when I made the switch 3-4 months ago, but since then I'm about break-even or slightly ahead only. Last month I actually lost money, which was a first, and not very pleasant, experience. Comfortably rolled for my small losses, so that's not the issue. Also ran well below EV so I assume these games will be profitable for me in the long run.
So..... I don't know....sorry for the long, rambling post. Right now I'm on the fence. I do enjoy SnGs and they seem like they would be profitable for me eventually, especially if I actually put a little study-time in and quit just "winging-it" so much. On the other hand, I'm already a long-term winner at cash, although very small stakes. Just not sure where I should put my effort. Right now I'm leaning towards cash if I decide to play more seriously and MTT/STT if I opt for the "playing more for fun" route.
