So i was watching an epdisode from WPT London from a long time ago and it was some guy vs freddy deeb. Freddy raised in early position and the guy called.
Deeb had (a-ko)
The other guy had (ad-jd)
The flop came ac,9c,7jh (or something along those line - an ace with a flush draw and gap straight draw)
Deeb bet out about half pot, and then the other guy min-raised.
What was the purpose of this???? I really struggled understanding what he was doing min raising with top pair medium-strong kicker.
Stronger wasn't folding and any draw he was trying to extract money from, he wasn't inducing a mistake as the odds would have been pretty good and the drawer would have some implied odds given the increase of the side of the pot.
Freddy folded his winning a-k and the other guy took the pot, but was the guy's aim to bluff hands like this off their hand?? I think a much better play would have been to just called and try and keep the pot small rather than opening it up again.
Any thoughts?
