At a loose passive table, you want to play pretty much the opposite which is tight aggressive. Stealing blinds doesn't work that much unless you raise it to a sensible amount that they will fold to and in late position.

Loose passive's are like level 1 thinkers. They only really care about what they hold. If the board reads JT987, they'll think that their jack high straight is good when if I shove all in for 27x the pot with my even higher straight. A good player notices this and when they have KQ, will bet big for value.

If you are card dead, just look for cards that play well multiway e.g. Ax suited, connectors, suited connectors. Even though we might not have the greatest of hands, if we flop huge it is likely we can steal someone's stack off them. If you can't pick up any of those, then just pray and hope something lucky happens e.g. you get moved to a new table full of TAG's or you flop a full house etc.

I would play more tight with 40 BB don't try too steal blinds unless you have a reasonable hand and when a good hand is dealt your way play aggressive you want final tables not minimum cashes tight aggressive is the way too go ;)

My strategy, such as it is, is to adjust my play according to my table situation. The fact that this is pretty imprecise reflects the wide range of possible situations.

Many a time mid way thru a tourney I have become card dead meaning not having two cards woth mentioning. Then I just sit tght and play top hands aggressivley otherwise fold.
There are times as well that you seem to get a streak of good fortunes at which time you play more loose aggressive.
It all depends on how you are and how you feel. Your only goal in mtt tourneys is to try to reach the money, then take down the tourney.
