So I check my stats and 40% of my tournaments i bust in the mid stages where generally a majority of the time i'm in either of the above 2 stack size ranges. 15-20bb and 20-30bb. (these are generally the stack sizes i bust with and misplay).

obviously with 10-15bb it's a fairly easy push/fold game and with 40bb+ you can win pots postflop and preflop with aggression fairly easily.

what sort of spots should i be looking for with the 2 stack size ranges that are in between.

e.g. should i still be looking for push fold spots 15-20bb or 3 bet stealing, should i be open raising more or 3bet stealing with 20-30bb?

i find that if i open raise lp with 20-30bb and then go in for a cbet bluff to take it down, i'm committing too much of my stack when its unsuccessful.

just because you bust does NOT mean you misplayed your hand.

Look to post trouble hands in the HA section with the stack sizes you mention.

In general, open raising becomes a little tricker but still fine. 3bet jamming becomes a really good weapon to have, and look for open push spots when you get to 15bb and below as a general rule.

But it's not that much differant from playing any other stack size, you just need to be aware of the differances and keep in mind if your stack and the tables stack size is around 15-30bb there will be a decent amount of 3betting going on. Obviously lowering raise size helps us with a lowering stack size too. So if you raise 2x and bet 4x on the flop it's around 6-8bb out of 20-30 which is pretty sizeable, but vs a decent amount of players it may be worth it, but the key is really giving up on flops that hit the opponants calling range preflop hard, so we bet only when we havea really good probability of taking it down and it should still be very profitable move.

Well i think that the best play for that situation is fold/raise
