Micro tourney revised small ball strategy

So, upon reading, it appears small ball is hard because dinks call too much. It's hard to play a lot of hands profitably with no equity and no fold equity. I've come up with what I think might fix this. Criticism or revision appreciated. 1. Tighten up. Playing too loose will drain us. We need equity to raise. 2. Value bet more. bluff less. Post flop. Again. We need equity. 3. Keep pots small until we hit. Build pots out of nowhere in good situations. 4. Raise exploitatively. By raising 3.5 or 4x instead of 2 or 2.5x we can realize value vs bad players. 5. Play suited connectors and low pocket pairs according to traditional small ball principles, minus bluffing. These are great hands in multi pots. Play cheaply and raise made hands. Call draws with enough ev.

Micro tournaments should initially be played variably, not always on the tiniest cards, as the tournament tour should play all the claims.

It's a silly theory that you should be gradual in your tournament profit. You should actually burst profit and risk being short-stacked if it goes wrong. You never can dominate the late game of an MTT with small ball strategy in mid-game

No one's talking about mid game/bubble. Small ball vs long ball is a debate about how to build a stack to proceed to the middle/bubble with a edge. The first hour or two of a deep stack tourney is a huge opportunity. You don't want to waste it going bust with AA in a avoidable three way all in. Waiting for the right cards eats at your stack, and makes you look nitty, and easy to fold to. By the time you get that aa, everyone's got you pegged.

That's Negreanu's strategy so I guess it's good

playing with a short stack, this is a game of luck, not a strategy

Small ball poker works sometimes and other times it doesn't work for me

This is as much about luck as it is about skill, you can't expect to win every AA nor lose with 27. But you can run people off that over think or are donks at the wrong moment and play T3 off when the board is signaling a potential flush/straight of any direction. The worst feeling is seeing you made a straight when 4 suited cards hit the table and you caught none of it. Even if you are first to act you could be walking into a huge grinder.
