FWIW I wouldn't be buying a copy of Ace on the River
for its tournament tips. It's a great book and I'd recommend people buy it for other reasons (specifically if they're considering turning pro) but its focus really isn't on poker strategy

For OP, have you read Phil Gordon's Little Green Book
and Little Blue Book
? If not I'd start there, they're equally applicable to tournaments and cash games and the advice is very well suited to low stakes games.
