Micro MTTs and Bankroll Building

Hi everyone, first time posting looking for some opinions on building a bankroll from the very bottom tier of micro stakes poker online. I will mostly be focusing on MTT buy in 0.55c average with a bankroll slightly over 100x my buy ins I may also plan to take the very odd shot at some $1.10 tourneys these will mostly be bounties for the added value of good runs in those plus a slight edge over the bounty hunters who call of 72o for that elusive 25c bounty.



When SCOOP was running I managed to qualify for two events and just over min cashed both events and was wondering what your view is on satellite tourneys? Do they have negative effect on a bankroll in the long run.


I am also studying away from the tables any chance i get but find the use of some tools tedious is this something missing from my game and should I make an effort to engage with different softwares



Any tips or advice is welcome as I am really trying to up my game and build a bankroll to move up in stakes the right way learning as I go.

Play as many freerolls as you can...become a member of the cardschat freeroll club...good luck..

i was watching KMART last night on twitch and he was going over his stats and said that he's up 7 or 8k in satellites, and didnt even know it himself...


and made a mental note to play more satellites so.. if satellites are working for you, play more of them - just keep it in your bankroll.


its a good way to sneak into some bigger tournaments with micro staking. then one good run in a real tournament will significantly change your bankroll.


also, keep in mind most of these sites offer tournament dollars in return for said tickets... you can always satty into something just for the money if you find a good satellite with a soft field.


for instance, last night Kmart bought into the battle royale 109 but while waiting for it to start sattied into it, as well... making it basically freerolling lol

oh, and with a hundred dollar bankroll playing for a buck, its a really good way to get yourself going. the only problem is if you track your stats and satty into something like a 109 or 530 for a penny like i did, it doesnt consider the ticket a win and considers using it spending it... PT4 may tell you you're losing a lot more than you think.


just pay close attention to your stats when you mix in satellites. they start to lie a bit.

Thanks yea I think that put me off tracking software and bankroll software couldn’t understand why my ROI was so off but i think I need more volume now I’m taking my poker seriously to see if my learning has had any effect on these stats

Do you mean bad habits at the felt or off the table?

Hi, I started from 0$ but now I got 26$.
pokerstars gave me 5 free tickets for my b-day, then I won 12 dollars.

I lose 7$ from these 12$.
Yesterday I won 4th place for 26$.


I think it's better to continue with 0.50$ SNG or tournaments


P.S.
If 0.02$ were starting very fast it will be the best way to build bank.

Yes you can have results as you keep trying. With this bankroll you can play the 0.55, but I think that is a good case, also the 1.10 and sometimes the 2.20 and 3.30! The important is the scale of the blinds each mtt has. Mtts like biggers at pokerstars have normal blinds scale which gives you the opportunity unfolding your game. Mtts like hotter are faster and you must play more aggresivelly.

Yes good tourney I like the layout and how the play slows down post bubble

With such a bankroll,the opportunity to play with the buy-in and higher, well-suited tournaments on the knockout...

i normally aim for 100-500 buyins but you can always squeeze it for a "main event" now and again. but its much better to satty in.



remember, most sites allow you to unreg from the satty (if its early enough, before it runs) and get T$ and tournament dollars are as good as real dollars if you're just buying in to more tournaments

i think the good choices u can do is all possible freerolls and cheap sattelites, it can give u a good amount of cash to start with your bankroll!

You can build a roll playing freerolls - ACR has several per day and some are decent usually with a very soft field as well

Can you play on Pokerstars? If so - check out all the super micro on-demand SNGs/MTTs. The multi-tables they have there are awesome for small BRs.
