Alright, here's the deal, Steve. You're not going to win every tourney, make the final table, or even cash no matter how good you are. Sometimes the cards just don't cooperate. Bad players get lucky. Sometimes good players do too.
I used to play the
freerolls on UB back in the day. They usually averaged about 3500 players, and only the top 18 got paid. I once went a whole week without cashing in one. I was like "WTF is going on?" I was used to cashing and even final tabling those tournaments at least once every couple of days. It gave me a lot of experience and helped me develop confidence in my game to the point where I feel like winning is not a matter of getting lucky, it's a matter of not getting unlucky.
When I play a hand a certain way there is usually some kind of reasoning for it. Still, there are times when I have to wonder if I could have played a hand differently or better or not at all. If you ever have those kind of questions you can come right here and we will all be very happy to shred you. Just kidding. Most people around here a pretty good with the advice.
Remember winning isn't question of getting lucky. It's a matter of playing good and not getting unlucky. Now get out there and make me proud!
