Good poker players have a lot of properties and abilities. Knowledge of strategy, ability to manage your bankroll and choose the right game - key. But the way you do things with such abilities can be defined. With the psychological aspect of poker, all is not so. All players have their favorite theories about why and when they make their best decisions in poker. Psychology says that often such findings made by the players are incorrect. Often we have no exact information on what factors have led to the adoption by us of certain of our solutions.
However, studies show that all distractions, any concerns that occur outside of what you're doing - seriously affect your success even if it is unbeknownst to you. In fact, it is quite obvious that you will not be able to notice this effect independently, as well as those who prefer cake fruit salad. Much will depend on individual circumstances. For example, I don't play very well in late night sessions. I often played late at night, and the results I was very disappointed. Maybe I'd be happier if would even put these sessions out of his game.

Some times it is difficult to see what the "bad" effect is. I have learned that a difficult day at work means I do not concentrate only on playing poker because i am thinking about work related issues.

When you review your results over the long term if you are losing then there is a reason. The key is identifying why and fixing the problem. Though we may not be able to see why ourselves we can rely on data to point us in the right direction. You have identified that late night sessions do not work for you. The data confirms this so regardless of why it is true all you need do is avoid playing at this time while you work on why this might be. Sometimes it just doesn't matter why. If you make a bunch of money playing during the day but suck at night and do not know why then forget about the why and play the day sessions to death. For me I try to be sure all is as good as it can be. rested, fed, everything taken care of, no distractions etc...If things still don't work out I quit and take a long break(a day or days..) til the feeling of optimism returns and the depressed thoughts leave.
