Hi guys/gals,

I know a spot where I'm leaking chips and need help, I keep getting open shipped on pre by regs in the sb/bb for as much as 30bb live when I open late. This is ruining my ability to steal blinds and I know they're doing it light. Question Is for 20-30bb what's your calling range when you know you're getting ****ed with?

If you're always folding to their shoves, then stop opening light or be prepared to call. If they are decent, which seems to the case because they expect a fold nearly always they can literally 3B shove any two cards.

If you know they are doing it light so often, then why are you not adjusting your opening/calling ranges?

Calling ranges really depend. If was expecting to be shoved on nearly always I wouldn't be opening a hand I was willing to call off. If someone is shoving like 80% of hands, then just work out our equity with pot odds with our exact hand and see if it's profitable. Can't give you an actual range to raise call off with because 20bb-30bb stack sizes are quite a big difference in stack sizes in tournaments and it really does come down to how often they are really 3B shoving vs our steals. You could very well just be feeling each time you steal they re steal etc.

I've been opening hands like a5s QTo on the button happily while not raising any two myself figuring they have to give me some credit. I can't wait to just steal with premiums as the blinds at the local games are pretty unforgiving. But 9
Facing an open ship holding a5s, QTo etc 30k effective my 3k raise blinds 500,1.

Decision?

This member has never played live but online or live opening late to steal blinds; your story is being read for what it is. Try stealing in early position (early position is where I buy a lot of blinds and steal on the flop if they call, or delayed blind steal on the turn for example, with hands that play well on flop.) instead as an example, this is where most people will give credit for having a hand and this will help mix up play then add late steals occasionally. They are the ones out of position making a move pre with an abnormal amount of chips, wait to set them up because if they think you are only stealing as your post suggests; they will repeat this mistake and eventually you will catch them be patient if this is your goal to run a race with 20-30bb pre-flop.

This member has too much skill to look for reasons to run 30bb pre-flop. My comfort zone is 30bb in MTT and cash games I am looking to play for stacks otherwise, only interacting to get information and set future plays up for a big payoff. This player does not often look to run a race pre unless I have the right hand against the right player and the prior information supports this high variance play. This player looks at people who look to put pressure on me with an abnormal amount of chips as a leak, just the same as someone who is looking for reasons to call those plays. This player is looking to dodge or control variance by completely understanding the situation and my opponent (‘s) holdings.

Solid advice I'll try working in some
EP moves see how that works out, also my OP however badly phrased was regarding my opening/calling ranges. I was opening about 35% calling about 10% of hands but I feel my calling range is still too tight

I think you need to put 3-4 blinds for dumping weak or very loose players in order to avoid unpleasant situations
