On my last post i was debating whether i should play in the 10$ dollar double chance tournament or not with one rebuy and one add on with 5000 in starting chips. After alot of soul searching i had decided not too play in it and i decided too use my 30$ bank roll for tournaments that are 3 too 5 dollars did i make the correct decision?

No. The tournaments you are playing are still above your bankroll. Search bankroll management.

Yeah your roll suggests that the microstakes will have to be a starting point for you.
Took me years to build a BR that supported anything but the micros.

Good Luck in what ever decision you make.

Well.... i will not play this one... if you have $30, you should play maximun buy-in 0,60cents. this is BRM it's a serious think for poker's players.
Play the hot 0,55 it's a good tournament!

if you play tournament buy-in you will have 54x the buy-in...

Still bad decision.

The 3-5 dollars are still high relative to your bankroll.

Personally, the max you can enter would be .50 and the ideal would be ..25.

yes I agree with you I would play tournaments like that or the big0.55$ it's a great tournament and the hot 1.10$. if you play tournaments like this I'm sure that you will increase your bankroll ;)

I do not see correct that games tilts over your bank, it is slightly profitable except that you put a good prize, but it is a bankruptcy

I and most serious MTT players have a real decent ITM% and the reason everybody preaches bankroll management is because anybody who's played a serious number of tournaments has seen a dry run of cards or beats that last for weeks or worse.
I've run 5 months with nearly a 50% ITM and over night run 3 months with a 10% to 20%.

So if you end up with a losing streak your $30 bankroll will run you a couple days to break before you're depositing again.

If you keep a 30 to 50 buy in BRM rule and you run a 20%+ ITM and really concentrate on deep cashing you should keep a steady profit.

with 30$ bank roll if I really want to play "big" tournaments I would play few satelites of max 0.40$, and this satelites to be for knockout tournaments, if I don't get the chance to be on money if i get eliminated, you have 1 more chance to get your money back but ideally for you would be to play max 0.50$ tournaments or sit&go multi table of 0.10$-0.20$
