As I am sure all you appreciate, it is not possible to have a winning day, every day online. My question is, how many tourneys do you play if you haven't been cashing in any of them? do you just give up after a set amount and start again tomorrow? or do you keep playing and try to claw back your losses not matter how many tourneys it takes?
The reason I ask, is yesterday I had a seriously bad day online, start of the day I had a number of bad beats and then I think it just affected my play all day and caused me to play bad. I kept playing to try get back my losses but only ended up losing more.. I actually ended up losing over half my BR.
How is this avoidable when running bad in future??

My question is; where have you been! lol..I recognize that name from when I first signed up on CC, I think we started around the same time.

Anyway in answer to your op;

I personally play regardless if I cash or not so long as I feel emotionally ok. So long as I know I'm making the correct decisions and feel I'm playing my A game, there is no reason to stop playing. Results will come if you keep playing well.

There are some days I can feel after my first 10 games, today is not a day I should be grinding, so stop loading and finish of my current games and be done for the day.

If you start losing a ton and realize it has effected your play, you really need to stop playing at that point because like with you and many others, you go on an lose a ton of your BR.

Basically to avoid it happening again, quit when you realise your A game has now turned into you C game.

Hahaha I have been hiding for a good few months but now I am back on the scene :D
So In answer to my post, you have no specific amount of games its just until you feel your game and decisions have dropped?!

Thats how i feel too ill play as long as i feel im still making correct decisions and not allowing my emotions to get involved with my play..

as soon as i start feeling like im tilting or spewing off chips i call it quits.. maybe not for the whole day but at least take a break for a while and clear my mind

No specific amount.

I tend to get bored though after 2-3hours of constant grinding so will start to close down then, even if I'm running good/bad. I tend to obviously play longer when running good but I think that's just natural..

My "average" grind day would be approx 80-100 SnG's if that helps..bear in mind I play hypers so much more than your average I guess.

I have had those kind of days as well. It seems like you just cant win at first then you get mad and begin playing bad. You start loosing and then try to play tournaments that are out of your buy in range. I have learned to only play games that my roll is good for and also if I am having a bad day I dont play any more tournaments. Next time you find yourself in this situation quit and tell yourself that there will be tournaments tommorow that you can play that will make up for your losses.

I keep going until my mind is exhausted and I make silly errors that I wouldn't make at the beginning of a session

How do you lose half your roll playing MTTs?

Do you just play 5x as high as you usually do?

Really outside of that it should be impossible pretty much...

If youre prone to doing this in MTTs, poker might not be the right hobby for you.

I hate to be so blunt about it, but poker is not a fun/lucrative venture for everyone, and unless you learn to control your tiltsanity it might never be for you.

Thats why I like to have a good bank roll build up.Because I know sooner or later I;m gonna have dry day or days of cashing out.I'll play my best with what I have delt to me until the cards start to flow my way.If I'm tired and poker feels like a chore I'll quit for the day.The best thing I think to do is not to keep going back and checking my bankroll amt.because when a player sees it fading he or she will try to chase it back and end up losing more.Or I have anyway.
