Im not sure if it was just cold cards or Im really a much tighter player than I thought but at the end of the night last night i ended up with a line something like 12/10/5. Thats unacceptable. I just couldnt find any spots at all to play a hand. Donks shoving left and right and such.

Middle stages of Betonline $1500GTD Rebuy
Blinds: 100-200 / 20 ante
Hero: 38BB w/ K10o on Button

Action:

MP1 minraises to 400 with a 10bb stack behind(Only 10 hands on player with 25%vpip)
MP2 flats (28/10/4)
400 to me on button w/ K10o. Pot is 1280 and only blinds behind me to act.

I wasnt sure what to do here. I dont want to try and isolate mp1 because he only has 10bb behind and will likely get it in. I wasnt sure if overcalling was too loose. I folded PF, but looking back i think its at least a call pf. Thoughts....

When you get into multi-way pots cheap K10 is very playable, you had the odds to call. You really almost had the odds to call any 2 cards. I certainly would have called and seen a flop, but I'm not trying to play a big pot with K10o so you have to be very careful. It gets easy to get sucked into pots you have no business being in.

Seeing more flops = winning poker. You do have to pick your spots but with that many blinds and antes starting you need to think about opening up your range.

I would just fold in this spot if I were you. I think calling just because you have good odds with any two cards is a common mistake amongst the general player pool (even though K10o isn't any two). But compare it to the opener's range - his range can be super strong here because he didn't shove and if you make top pair with the K or the 10 are you folding the flop? If they were suited a call, off-suit I fold. There are so many better hands to call here with - all the Pocket pairs and suited broadways - suited connectors - where you will know where you stand against the openers range once you see the flop.

You really should open your rank in some positions and have forced that K10 to the player with 10BB. Sometimes we should see more hands because if you are not a very predictable player, maybe there is no one aware of that but you can get used to playing like that and it is dangerous
