Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a training buddy for no limit holdem. To my person as a poker player:
I'm now 23 years old, from switzerland and I started about five years ago with poker. I paid 20$ on pokerstars and no suprise: I lost it all trough bad brm. I didn't play for a long time, but I restarted about the end of last year. I won about 5$ in a freeroll. Then I grinded it up from 0.25$/90men to 0.5 turbo/9men to 1.5$ regular/9men to 3.5$regular/6-max to 7$ regular/6-max and I will start soon with the 15$ regular/6-max I guess. I play everyday when I have time and I'm really interested to get better and better.

I'm looking for someone who plays no limit holdem too. I would wish to train with a winning player, who plays at least the 15$ sngs or mtt and also plays a LAG style (if there are not only fishes at the table of course). It would also be great, if he/she has no problem with my somewhat bad english (I speak german). ;) The training would be per skype and we can see how and when we can do it. Even better would be, if we are more than 2, but at the moment, I would be cool to know at least someone.

Please write me if you're interested!

I saw your post, unforunately I cannot help you but I would like to be able to speak to someone about micro stakes tourneys, I am playing for one year now and I feel I need to improve my game, so if there is someone who would like to help just leave me a message.
Thank you very much.

I would be interested; but pokerstars is not an option being a US player. Also, the timezone differences would probably be a significant issue as well.

I think it's a good way to improve gaming skills using training software. I use ace poker coach and I think that it's a pretty good way to raise up your skills' level. I have also heard that s&g booster is good but I havent tested it yet.

It sounds like you have been doing quite well based on the first post. I don't think we have many sng grinders around these days, I used to grind sng's and was up to the 15$ games at one point however it didn't go so well weather it be variance and or needing to improve my game I hit a downswing that had me drop back to the 7's and mixing 3.5$ games and eventually took a break and had to cash out my br.

I never really got back into sng's after, mtt's was what I returned to when i got back to grinding and these days am transitioning to a cash game grinder since it fits my schedule better.

I also grinded mostly 9man sng's the ko and turbo games, but would also jump on the 6max if i ever went back to grinding sng's again as have played them here and there since and found them well but again only some 7$ games.

If you have any specific things you were hoping to address you can certainly post and I'm sure cc members will be able to provide some feedback, I'd have a kick at it and we could track down wizzim another member who used to grind lots of sng's and still has some great knowledge locked upstairs I'm sure.

If there are specific hands giving you trouble feel free to post them etc.

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't think I have enough time for that much playing.

i need to make poker friends as well . but Im sort of taking a break from poker until 2016. Im also trying to focus on doing better in poker. I feel I developed some kind of skill throughout the years, but I feel my approach isn't correct and its not giving me the results i imagined. Learning from others and how they approach poker might help me understand the investment side of it and maybe help me protect myself from gambling my buy ins. I might be interested to enter a study group of some sort.
