Finished 4th for over 550, small win

Tourney starting stack 13000
Stacks same 13000
Interesting hand, tight aggressive older...
Blinds 100-100.. raises to 1100 early.. ( usually has A X TO 10.. BIG CARDS.
I get JJ. Raise to 3300.

All else fold...

Flop 983 rainbow

He checks, I bet all in,, rebuy period for the next 2 hours..

He folds...

That was knowing the player, as I watched him closely in previous tournaments, if he hits, it’s all in....

Seems fine given your read on him.

That being said with 6.6k in the middle and 10k behind, you may want to consider making a smaller bet like 2-3k to give him the opporunity to
a) float your bet and try to improve, then check/fold into a bigger pot on the turn (with overcards he'll be missing the turn 88% of the time)
b) make a play on you thinking your hand is weak

If he's just a loose passive player then your makes sense.
If he has any kind of aggression and fight in him tho (as these big overbet player types often do) it's not a bad idea to give him some rope to hang himself when you've got such a good hand and such a good flop AND an already juicy pot that he'll likely want to fight for.

So, he raised 11x preflop?
I do not understand the preflop action honestly.

Ok, I’m a donkey

82 s 100 100 blinds tourney start.

Every one limps me bb

Check

Flop 882

One raise 3x b, 2 or 3 callers I call

5 h.

One raise 800

I call heads up.

River.. 10 d

Villain raises 1200...

I reraise 4000

The look of exasperation hits him.

He calls,, I roll over...

Cards slammed mucked, evil look my way...

Felt good to be on the good end of that one for a change..

Yes 11 x pre

His attack, which works well is, I am guessing, AK AQ AJ AT A9. Raises it..
at these tournaments, he usually gets one or two caller ?? I don’t know,, just because...
if he hits the flop... all in, picks up 20 bigs... if he misses ..checks... if opponents check he’s bets big...on the turn. ..

He always amasses a stack, but vaulters in the higher blind levels.

I have caught him several times, when you hit trips and slow play or catch a flush or straight.

If he is in with any other holdings it’s usually 2 to 3x.

Thanks , that’s an idea, and works, but I seems to be able to have the amazing river card deal me a serious blow! LOL. ( notice i didn’t say unlucky!!!)

It is a bit of a turbo, so getting chips early helps ride out any slumps or losses.

If he raises 11x preflop it must be a very exploitable player for sure.

And if he only raises those hands he will very soon be blinded out.
