I have noticed that so many players on-line limp into pots alot.. I think this is a big mistake. If your hand is good enough to play it is good enough to bet. The only time I ever consider limping is with a small pocket pair in a decent position. Hoping to see a flop. You agree?:D

Not exactly. Poker is a game of situations and there are plenty of situations that limping is a good play. Here are a couple examples.

1. Other people have limped in ahead of you, giving you increased pot odds.
2. You have a monster hand, and there is a lag player that loves to attack limpers behind you.
3. You have small to medium pocket pair in early to middle position without a read on the table, or your read is that of a table full of calling stations.
4. You ghave a good to great hand, as well as a very loose image at a tight, but knowledgeable table.

Online pot odds is a strange beast. In many of the tourneys I play in, the blinds go up so fast you almost always have the proper pot odds, ... even to call a raise. The concept of "pot odds" can sometimes trick new players into playing too many hands in the loose environment of online poker.

I love to limp aces, and then re-raise, so that everyone knows exactly what I have!

Live play I dont like to limp, however online play just seems so much looser that I prefer to limp and hit the flop before betting out big. Seems even raising all in online you get callers with junk who manage to suck out

i limp and try to see cheep flops during early stages of rebuy tournaments. If i hit good (2 pair or better), I have a good chance of doubling or tripling up my stack. And my stack is already double since I will early rebuy.

limping i feel is a way to get more value out of your hand with not so good cards the people who tend to limp are the ones who tend to suckout alot or hit those sneaky two pairs, limping is affective if used in the right way

ok, so what work for me alot is limping with everything including aces or kings, (this is not my normal style, whick is TAG but for the topic of limping...) and if I hit really good, or the nuts i'll overbet it say 125 to 225% of the pot, but only if I'm sure I have the nuts, then they usually think i'm like trying to buy the pot, and call me down, hysterical, but true, and you may say costly, but just make sure you got the nuts when you do something like that. works everytime.

there's nothing better than playing with your cards face up. the funniest part is they still call you down.

I think it alright to limp in certain situations and position, if I got AQ, 99-22 UTG i'd prefer to limp. If I got any of these in the blinds, button, or one away from the button I prefer to raise with them. I'll raise with suit'ed connectors like 9 10, A K, or alright pocket pairs like 10's and better. I hate playing JQ, JJ, KQ, and 10 J because it always seems like I never win, makes me feels like I have a better chance with 72o. hehehe :D
