You've all been there - or will be. It's early in the tournament, you get AA and go all-in. The guy next to you and several others call and the dope with the 27 off suit flops a boat.
Let the idiots kill themselves while you post and fold for the 1st half hour or so.

I agree with you on this subject, especially in freerolls. But if you post and fold the blinds go up so fast that you feel pressured when you finally start playing that you have to make a move quickly.

Yes, when Paradise was having freerolls for WSOP the blind were going up every 6 min. Very difficult to wait on hands when they go up that fast. It became much more a luck of the draw game then instead of a betting game

Post & Fold Beats 2/3 Of The Field
I have ocassionally had to NOT play a tournament which I had entered. Most were freerolls but in almost all cases, NOT PLAYING beat 2/3 of the field.

You should really play your game tight in the beginning and then loosen up.

re: Poker & Late Start For Online Tournaments
when its early, everyone plays crazy... hold your cards unless of course you got something good. normall not playin will eliminate 1/2 - 2/3 of the field. post fold is a good strategy but not all the time.

I always find it smart to start late in these tournaments... of course you will have to make a move sometime... but starting late often leads to half the field eliminating themselves and guess what... you havn't even played a hand yet... everyones different take what you can and play SMART!!!
