Lets say the tournament started with 6000 people. Lets say there are 85 left and your 3rd in chipstack more than 100BB. Do you guys think its better to fold an all in against someone that went all in with half your stack if your holding AK suited or just avoid flips and let the big money come closer to you? should you chase the money or should you be a little bit more foldy in order to make sure u get deeper and start ur flips a little later? i know its a general question but i get alot of mixed feelings in late stage tourneys about what i should be doing. one part of me says bully them all!!!!! then the other part of me is saying avoid confrontation,ur good let them kill each other. any comments would really be helpful . thanks alot friends.

Easy fold for me... way too much ammo to risk at that point in the game. Go on to fight another day. You wanna be the guy putting the pressure on the big stacks not the other way around. I know if i'm shoving 50BB into the middle, i'm putting it in without worry of losing it because i know i have the best hand. HOWEVER, If said villian is shoving mega stacks in with A9 and K10 on a regular basis, AK is probably a snap call for me but it's situation depending. That point in the tourny is make or break for your finish. When in doubt throw it out (rule for eating wild mushrooms works for poker too!)

That is exactly right.....however calling is not doing that. Bullying IMO speaks to being the aggressor calling is a passive move. I don't like a flip at that point. Just my style I often think some one will give me a better spot. Now on the other hand if there is room in the action I will put others to the test with much less than AKs. Oh and truth be told I am actually just a complete fish how has never seen that deep in a tourney ;)

Remember AK is a drawing hand and 50 bb's is a ton of chips to risk on a coin flip. You should increase your aggression as your stack gets smaller in terms of bb's. You should def be 3 betting in and out of position w/ that type of stack w/ Ak but should not call off that many chips w/ no fold equity.

But also depends on what type of mood you're in. If you're in that type of mood where you just want a monster stack and you're not desperate for the money then hey ...... go for it! You can still win w/ 50bbs. lol

I call, AK is a great starter hand. If I win I'm probably the big stack. If I lose I probably have an average stack I think it's worth it
