I just wrote my latest blog post on the pros/cons of late registering for a tourney. Check it out and let me know what you think.

If the payout structures mean 20-30% had chance to get ITM late registration is still a possibility.

you talk bad of the loose players, but playing loose in early stage is the proper tactic, playing loose it doesn't mean that you have to bet all hands, you could call a lot in preflop but after flop is when you need to have the right decisions, find the nuts and then play aggresive.

I play a lot of years. All right, I set out with all agree. I can not add anything. I love to sit in a timely manner to the tournament. When the tournament began more than 1 hour ago I do not register.

If you play at a room like Dragonroom Poker and there's a large add-on right when late registration ends, then I'd go for it since it gives you a good chance. If it's a larger room with hundreds of players in the tournament already, I'd say don't since so many people have already built up huge stacks.

For me it depends on the tournament structure and also the payouts and the amount of players. I sometimes do but not all the times

depends on the percentage of chip stack compared to the BB at the time of registration

Depends on the tournament structure :)

For me it's a few factors. I'll look at what the blinds are compared to my starting stack, and how many are left til the money when I jump in. Also if there is an add on option I might consider it if it will put me close to average stack size. I normally like to play on time but if there is a good one already started and it looks like I can get to the money fairly easy I'll give it a shot.

I do register late sometimes but not if the last payout slot has double the starting chips. personal rule...but id rather be there from go in my opinion if u think u have a better chance of winning bye spending less time at a table probably shouldn't be playing in first place...plus see cheap flops early...more hands I see better chance of getting good ones..lay down the one legged hands,,,n don't pay too much to see flop unless sitting on pocket rockets...in the beginning a mtt is more about tiny steps up n surviving;;don't try n get way up early bye taking big risks even if it works chips wont last till end especially playin loose.....

If there are few people left before the prize zone, you can try to drop by

As it is already mentioned above, it depends from the structure of the tournament. It also depends from the starting chips. If it is mtt with a blind up every 8-10 minutes it is ok to register late. If it has blinds rising every 5 minutes it is not so wise to get in because the stacks will be high and the blinds will eliminate your starting chips, so you will need the factor of luck too much, which will look like a lottary!

It depends on many things, both the structure of the tournament, and the player, each person has a different perspective, of course some may coincide, but many have different perspectives, I like to register halfway through the registry, when the registration is very long and the change of blinds is slow, from the beginning if the tournament is very fast, also of players who like to enter at the last minute no matter if the tournament is fast or slow, they like to enter the tournament pressing to win chips and the ones I've seen playing like that are doing very well
