good day,

I'm having problem on my game during in the late phase tourney(ITM),

played hotter $2.20 a week ago, then i was in middle position i shove KJ suited spades with around 10 BB, then there was in the bigblind called with trash cards offsuit around 6 blinds left.

and the flop came it was all hearts, and another heart hit on the turn, makes complete his card with a flush.

i was very disappoint in the BB calling my all in shove with trash cards.

what was his intention or trying to prove? i really dont understand :(

late game when the antes get high you can profitably call a preflop shove with ATC. Especially if you're short handed and/or have a comfortably large stack size yourself.

It's not necessarily profitable to call an all-in with ATC and a short stack. However, the alternative isn't attractive either. Factor in that it's reasonable to assume you're shoving your 10BB fairly wide, and it's not out of the question to go for the suckout against one opponent with rag rag.

The most likely situation is two unders vs two overs, which is about a 2:1 dog. Not great, but when you're down to 6BB, you basically have very little time to pick a spot and go for it. So even choosing a spot where you know you're behind isn't always the worst option.

Yea the blinds and antes in late stages, plus ur 10 BB shoving range really make it profitbale to call w ATC

Not really. Whether calling is + or -EV depends on the pot odds you're getting because of the blinds. calling with ATC can't be profitable without dead money since it's never favored.

there does reach a point where you can call atc profitably but generally it is when your short in the SB or just hyper short it is simply an odds thing but it seems you wouldn't have posted the hand OP had you won,....

I'd say you should wait for a better spot.
It still depends on what stack sizes are after you (given that everyone else folded to you. if anyone else shoved, it's an easy fold. or tough for you, but for me it's an easy fold) and whether they're playing loose or tight. Your shoving range widens, true, but it's always a gamble as you never know what you're running into.
My "philosophy" as short stack in the late phase is this: i'm already screwed, so why not wait for a "sure" thing? If i'm gonna be out-blinded, so be it. At least i didn't lose my cool. :D

First of, your opponent is already very very short stack.
Second, he is on the big blind.
Third, he might be thinking you're just shoving with anything.
