My Position: 6th / 6 remaining

Blinds: 6000, 3000 - ante:500

I had 13k chips and it was folded to me on the button. + was playing like a nit.
SB had: 60k or so chips (He knew I was playing tight)
BB had: 25-30k chips (Was a new player form a different table)

SB was decently tight preflop player, and I didnt know much about the BB.

I was delt: Kd,8d

I was thinking that if they folded i'd get the blinds + antes and have alot better chance to stay in it. And that they might call with almost any two cards, giving me a chance to double up.

But i'm just curious to what other people think? Should I have tried to wait for a better spot to push?

Auto shove, would normally avoid letting myself get this low before shoving.

yeah it's an auto shove with this from any position with your stack. I know it's hard to shove wide when your stack starts to get small, but you really shouldn't let yourself get this short cause the blinds are automatically priced in to call your all in with any 2 cards when you push with only 2 BB left.

Thanks guys, next time ill for sure make a move sooner. I didn't realize how fast those blinds / ante's destroy your stack size so quickly.

Usually you want to consider your M variable a lot sooner than this it can be a lifesaver in helping you make decisions at the table under pressure of a dwindling stack.

M = Your stack size / total in the pot before each hand

it tells you how many orbits you will last if you don't play a hand.

Use your own example: M = 13k (your stack) / 12k (6000 Bb + 3000 sB + 3000 antes) = 1.08

To put things into perspective you should be open shoving complete garbage almost any two cards with an M less than 3, so K8s is like... beautiful.

Aim to always keep an M larger than 8. Anything between 5-8 is pretty dire straights and you need to find places to make some moves before its too late again.

M greater than 15 and you are on the right track. Greater than 40 and you are kicking ass.

Make your move way earlier, unless you just lost a big hand. You can not let yourself get down to that when it only pays 3. YOU NEED CHIPS!!!

Try and keep yourself above the 10 BB stack if at all. possible... consider making this shove much sooner than this... so much in blinds and antes to pick up with no showdown, this is an auto shove... its unfortunate that they will call with any two as you have no fold equity and you will be forced to win a showdown, but you have no choice.

i imagine it was a turbo... we make the mistake of waiting too long for cards at first.. but once you get a hang of it and starts to put a lot of volume to your gaming, you will see it's never profitable to get this short... you should just make a move when you have position or you're facing limpers and this sort of stuff...

it's a very nice move when you have like 20bb and just one raiser in front of you so you can shove and collect blinds and his raise, and you could do it pretty lightly, just observe how often the player in front of you is raising.

You have 13k chips , blind 3000/6000 ante 500. You have about 1M, it is easy allin with K8s. I play here with range like this: 66+,A2s+,K7s+,Q9s+,JTs,T9s,A2o+,K9o+,QTo+,JTo.
