Played the $560 rebuy $1,000,000 guarantee at Borgata last thursday (25,000 starting stack).
On the last hand before rebuy period ended. Sitting in the BB with 31,000. There is an early position shove for Approximately 22,000.. folds around to the button who shoves for approximately 18,000. playing TAG since the tournament can't be won early
SB folds. I look down at AKo. Considering it the last hand before end of rebuys. If i lose would be crippled.
The blinds were 200-400 with 50 ante i recall correctly.

Do you call or fold?

First all i can could be playing ATC . Second all in i put on narrow range of big pocket pair. But since it the last hand of rebuys anything is possible. Decision time come: i folded

First all in shows ATs. Second all i can shows Q-Q

What would you do. If called i would of won since a A hit and first all in did not hit his 10

At the time i was thinking it was a good fold but now i am questioning my decision

Am i playing to tight?

Thanks in advance

Well you dont specify the structure of the tournament...
When you mean the last hand of the rebuy period that means you can rebuy plus add on during break right?
If that's so and you were prepared to pay 1120$ to play so it was a call(play to win) cause you were surely below average and close to the rebuy stack but, If you're saying it was the last hand(no rebuys or addons during break) i would certainly fold, not ready to put my tournament life at risk with a shove from ep and a reshove that means if you're not behind, you're in the best case flipping

But something about the utg's guy move makes it look like there were rebuys, in that case it was a call imo...

Structure: if you bust out by level 6. You can rebuy for $560 with starting stack. No add ons at all

This was the last hand of level 6. If i lost the hand i would be sitting with approx 11,000 and not be able to rebuy

Kinda an easy fold. Buy questioning my decision after the fact

high five the dealer and call, they both increase their chip stack regardless of whether they win the hand or not. narrowing his calling range to QQ+ is absurd also

This makes no sense at all. The last hand of a re-buy period is the last hand at which you can bust and still be able to re-buy.

In any case I'd easily be AI in this hand.

He couldn't rebuy. he'd still have chips since everyone folded but the two all ins that he had covered. since he would have chips he couldnt rebuy and it would be too late to rebuy after his all in next hand. Since there was no way for you to rebuy, I personally say good fold. If you could have been all in I may think differently since you could get back to starting stack but putting you at half when rebuy period is done is rough.

I would call. I'd say the first guy was betting others would fold, and the second I'd think was trying to catch him. Maybe I'm completely wrong, and I am pretty new, but I'd have to call.

i think you made the right move to fold hope you did well in the game you played. i dont think you can play a game too tight just because you fold ace king or even aa and believe me i have.and in the end i say wow good fold.

I'd assume the first player to all-in had atleast a reasonably strong hand, knowing that he'd have to either be called by a player with a larger stack and lose in order to rebuy, or win the hand against a small stack and gain chips that way. I would of thought the first player would of had the high pp, considering if two or more players were to call him, he'd expect them to have AK AQ KQ JJ TT ect, causing the two opponents to reduce each other's outs and increase his odds of winning the pot. The raise from UTG seems to strong of a play.

well, you win some, you lose some. But I think i woulda called a triple up chance with AK. its a lil off calculations, but at worst AA woulda been unlucky. but even if 1 had KK, u had a ~25 - 30% chance at a triple up which is not far off of good money

Any casino worth it's salt (ie: Borgata) would allow a rebuy after said hand, even if it's the last hand of the level. The action of that particular hand could cause a player to have to rebuy just as much as the hand preceding it. The only way one couldn't rebuy is if was the first hand of the next level (in this case, level 7).

This is of course assuming that the rules specifically stated that a player must be completely out of chips in order to rebuy, and are allowed only one rebuy per time/ overall.

Even with 11k, you're still well short of the 25k starting stack and should be able to rebuy at least 25k chips.

Or did I miss something?

Either way, barring any specific reads on opponents, I'd call in that spot. Every time.

Basically it's a touranment where if you lose all your chips you can buy in again and get another starting stack. But there will be a cut off point to do this.

Thanks for all the responses.

Looking back i wished i called (and thats not because i would of won ) its because of The fact that acquiring chips takes risk. To win you ultimately need to make tough decisions. A race with AK at this level would be appropriate ( who would agree?), just basically crushed by 2 hands. even with a lose sitting with 11,000 (i am a decent short stack player lol)

Will just place this one into my memory. I moved on. Learned from it and will improve because of it

I hate to say it, but it might come down to the edge I felt on the field....some live fields are LOLbad....so I might be tempted to pass.

OTOH, it technically should be a pretty easy fold unless CC'er is a nit of epic proportions...the pot is laying such tasty odds to you.
