I must say that playing these micro sit and goes on pokerstars are much more enjoyable than the micro cash game. No upswing profiting to cloud this statement.

The micro cash game to me is entirely a gamble, whilst the sng feels like people are really there to play poker. Cash game: Raise for any amount you wish preflop, and mad russians will call with any two. - Counter-Statement: some might comment that this is a good thing, for me its not, I pick my spots and win a bunch of small pots only to lose to a donkcall for big pot. rinse repeat.

I've been focusing on NL holdem turbo fifty50s 1.50 buyin sng with a headsup sng running aswell. I still hover around my original deposit, up or down 5 bucks at any given time, cant seem to make any real headway overall. But again: much more enjoyable!

I am looking for SnG advice if anyone wants to take the time, at the moment I'm able to play everyday for a significant amount of time since on vacation. Thank you all.

+ also, I deposited on PS without using a promotional code, Can I use a promo code the next time I deposit ?

100bb deep is more of a gamble than a game where you shove ATCs in some spots? I play pretty much exclusively HU games and I can assure you most cash game players don't even have close to my swings.

This thread just contains a complete breakdown in logic.

@OP, I understand your feelings and while I agree with some of your statements, other parts of it are just way off, as others have said. I totally understand enjoying SNG play more than cash; I'm there myself. For years I was a modestly winning player at cash games, but I just got tired of the "grind" so I switched to SNGs at the beginning of the year. I definately make less money now, but I enjoy myself more. Just depends on why you are playing.

As far as which is more of a gamble.... SnGs, and it isn't close. In SnGs you will be forced to play hands you don't want to, in situations you don't want to, and at times you don't want to just due to the escalating nature of the blinds/antes. In cash you are never forced to play a hand you'd rather not. In SnGs sometimes you will find yourself at a tough table or in a difficult seat to play from due to the players who have position on you. Again, in cash you never have this issue. Don't like your seat? Get up and leave. Obv. can't do that in a SnG.

SnGs, by their very nature are a higher varience games than cash simply because of the forced action generated by the escalating blind structure. Having said that, you're on both ends of the spectrum as far as varience. 50/50s will be low varience affairs while HU will be super high varience deals.

Having said all this, there is tons of stuff out there if you're serious about giving SnGs a try. Read-up on ICM. Get SnG Whiz and play around with it. Consider a training site like SnG Grinders or some such. Consider reading a few books. Most of them by Moshman are pretty well regarded.
