I have only just found this chart. I was always wondering what I could shove profitably when I have 20- bbs.

I know it is fine to get 99's all in pre with 15- bbs but I would like to DU as soon as I hit the 20bb.

Is this chart only for a STT game or FT. This is where I get confused with NASH and ICM. ICM I believe is only when we get to the FT and if we are playing a STT, but what about NASH?? Is it ok to use this chart when playing in a MTT and we are not close to the bubble?? Say I am 13bb with no antes and I am in the SB with K7o and the button with 27bbs just min-raise for the steal... Is it correct to shove there, or is it only correct to shove if the button folds.

My input

Jen it is best to push shove a third of the time with good hole cards. Good hole cards are cards in a royal or pairs. If you push shove too much they will catch you.

I have been watching HotJennie's vids on dragthebar and she uses NASH on a normal table and ICM on the FT.... So she has answerd my question :D

I think with the chart... It depends on who your villain is.... The chart is just a guideline, but there will be times where you just can't wait for strong hands to shove with or you will just blind down. So the chart will come in handy.

Based on your suggested situation... 13BB with no ANTE's, its pointless, the Ante's are what makes stealing worth it in an MTT, Without the antes you can still sit and wait for your strong hand because ante's arent eating away at your chips, however with 13BB and no antes your hoping to see a raise in front of you when your holding the goods, the villain usually wont have enough equity to fold meaning he will call you down lighter so you can then double up....

this is just how i look at it before ante's are introduced, once ante's come into the equation you can then steal with an all in or if you have doubled up get away with some resteals if you see a obvious blind stealer

I could be wrong

ahhhh now i see what ur referring to and no general rule of thumb is you shove only if its folded to you, if somebody min raises they have no fold equity, so you might get away with it but i would expect a call most of the time, on the other hand a limp is dependant, if opponent is limping to see cheap flops often then yes its fine to shove the limp, but once there is more equity in the pot you have to strengthen your shoving hands

again i could be wrong, i havent really got the experience at the tables that you do, but a few years back i was coached and thats how it was explained to me

Shove or fold decisions are an art in many cases more than a science. The chart or any chart will always work best only as a guideline. Shoving is used to win without a showdown and of course if you happen to get called it is nice to have something that can win. For me I just get a feel of the table and the situation. I try to factor in my image and whether I am even being noticed or not. You can fold relatively strong hands in these situations when they are being contested(someone is already in the pot etc). The idea again is to get away with winning when everyone else folds and if you know you can do that by shoving 72 then do it.
