I am back to full focus on mtt's in January. I will be playing a lot of them online - and will be back in Vegas for a week of live tournaments.

Hopefully it will be a great month!!

Going to try and do more live tournaments at the local club, especially the larger buy in games. So far so good for this year with 2 cashes in the 1st 2 tournaments.

I played 5 yesterday and had a couple of min cashes - ended up slighly down for the day.

I should be able to play some today and a few tomorrow night. This is a tough month for me finding time. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law are still here til Friday so squeezing these 2 days in is about the best I can do for now.

This weekend will be a major tournament grind for me though - Fri, Sat and Sun. Mon and Tues I might get a few in at night - but leave for Vegas on Wed so that will be it for a while.

Well - have some big online freerolls on the 15th and 16th while in Vegas - and since the football play-offs will be going on I will be playing those and watching football in my room those days.

Hopefully will final table at least a couple of live events that week!

Standard. Do you ever fail to make bank?

Oh yeah Im posting in this thread because I think it needs a little bit of attention, it being so small and all.

November 2010 I actually ended up a loser but not by much about 300$..Also January 2010 I was a loser too. September and December 2010 were insanely good months for me. I'm just a huge luck box..

You're right though this thread is always small

I like your table mode but mine is not as glossy.

What do you consider a session? One night or day?
Uhh... :D I guess any solid block of time through which you are constantly playing. Some people may do more than one during a given day/night if they happen to play short-ish sessions (mine are typically 2.5-4 hours, occasionally I'll play more than one session in a day).

Depends really. I might play a lot if I am losing early and want to continue, or I'll stop playing if I am losing horribly. On average, I'd say about 2 or 3 mtts a night.

Man...only two or three? Teach me Obi-Wan! I guess constantly rocking turbo games(and 45/180 person SNGs) spikes my variance but it feels like I gotta have some serious flaws in my mid-late game to go so many tournaments without deep runs.

LOL two final tables today, both 11$ Rush Rebuy On Demands.

First one I got 4th I believe for 250$, didn't post it in the RR thread, just because, some CC people were there tho so that was fun. I lost A7<67 in that one...or I would have won that too, all these final table ppl play badly its too easy!

Here's the one I just played though. Let's go January I only got a couple more days left, one big win!

 I took 11th in nightly 'stars $3+R 40k. Should absolutely have made final table...wound up making two huge mistakes and donking myself out of the tournament :icon_puke

On the plus side, I gained some deep tourney experience (people play really tight in those final 3-10 tables). This is also my second deep run in a large field MTT in recent memory, so hopefully it means I'm doing something right and just need to keep my nose to the grindstone!

my awful awful call said:
Poker Stars $3.00+$0.30 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t60000/t120000 Blinds + t12000 - 5 players - View hand 1110725

CO: t663344 M = 2.76
BTN: t4998632 M = 20.83
SB: t1432338 M = 5.97
Hero (BB): t2293326 M = 9.56
UTG: t1640516 M = 6.84

Pre Flop: (t240000) Hero is BB with A

2 folds, BTN raises to t4986632 all in, 1 fold, Hero calls t2161326 all in
just awful...:(

Can't wait till I have a roll to consistently play bigger games. I take shots every now and then, go semi deep, then lose after going in with the best...I know I can compete up there!!

Failed to have a good run (or even cash) in anything on sunday. Played like 5 MTT too :(. Played well for the most part...my favorite hand of the session is this one:

Poker Stars $5.00+$0.50 (rebuy) No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t125/t250 Blinds + t40 - 9 players - View hand 1116084
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

SB: t7325 M = 9.97
Hero (BB): t10887 M = 14.81
UTG: t12405 M = 16.88
UTG+1: t13460 M = 18.31
UTG+2: t9855 M = 13.41
MP1: t18740 M = 25.50
MP2: t19974 M = 27.18
CO: t27685 M = 37.67
BTN: t9272 M = 12.61

Pre Flop: (t735) Hero is BB with T

7
spade.gif

2 folds, UTG+2 raises to t600, MP1 calls t600, MP2 calls t600, CO calls t600, 1 fold, SB calls t475, Hero calls t350
Flop: (t3960) 4

5

(6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 bets t1000, MP2 folds, CO folds, SB folds, Hero raises to t2750, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls t1750
Turn: (t9460) 7
diamond.gif
(2 players)
Hero bets t7497 all in, MP1 folds

>>So...the 7d was pretty much the best card in the deck for me but I was going to barrel a whole lot of turns anyway.
For the record...MP1 was a loose/fishy player but didn't like to show down that much. Comments/critiques?

I am thinking about heading over to the casino in a nearby race track. They have a $1k Gaur. PLO tournament. The game is $20 + 5.00.

Does that seem like a reasonable rake to you guys/gals? I want to play since I have not seen a game of PLO for that cheap around here. Thought it could be fun. Would also be my first PLO MTT live. A smaller buy-in then the ones I have cashed for online.

That's a typical rake for a casino. GL in the game.
