I could never figure Phil Ivey out. He just busted out of the main event . He had close to 1million in chips lost 250k pot to trip3's in which it took him nearly 8 min in the tank before he called with J8. He was so tilted that a few hands later he bluffed off his remaining 763k . The main to Ivey is like a daily $100 tournament the way he plays it. Totally depresses me because it caps off a rather shitty for me as well. I played some $1 $2 cash today bought in for $100 worked it up to $180 I shoved with KK this old annoying fart with a soutthern accent hits a 3 on the turn to give him trip 3's like the guy Ivey lost to. To make matters worse i get pocket K's again several hands later Shove my remaining $100 only to lose to another old fat fart who called with pocket aces and won. I told him i hope he loses every dime of it and walked out. Then to come home and watch my favorite player bust the main capped off a bad day. I was really pulling for him to get to the final table

You are such a poor sport - that was inexcusable behavior.

Poor sport ? You go all in twice and lose with KK and see how it feels?

I gotta agree even with bad beats you stay humble, you don't want to lose a potential customer because he made a bad call and got lucky. I'd rather leave him happy and have a new atm than just be a douche and have him avoid me.

I've had aces three time in a session and lost with them. I didn't belittle the people that beat me. I told them nice had and moved on. You are going to have days where your hands don't hold up. You have to get used to them.

Can't always win

You can not always win, man.. doesn't matter if you are the best player in the world.
That only means you'll have better (or the best) results in the long term, after playing hundrers, thousands, even millions of tournaments/hands..

As of you, you should get some info on bankroll management.
Losing a hand with pocket kings mean nothing, nor 2..

I don't want to be mean, just saying..

If you shove your entire stack without the nuts, you are making a bad play and will eventually lose all your stack.
Just bet the pot or maybe slightly more....especially in a cash game!

Not good

They say you are never suppose to bluff off your stack in a tournament. I wouldn't of thought Ivey would of done that with a fairly healthy stack.

Not very classy how you treated those elderly men at all. Everyone loses, deal with it or stop playing for money - best advice you will get.

It also could be some days you just don't feel like playing poker but don't have that option in the main event.

It all depends on your lifestyle and the expendable cash you have available. When the bells go off in your head that you worked hard at a job for that money you just deposited into some old farts stack who probably has more money than you , its kinda hard to be polite and tell them nice hand If your name is Mike Mizrachi well thats a horse of a different color

The old fart could be living of Social Security and the $100 the best day he's had in a long time. You'll never know. Being gracious whether you win or lose will make life more enjoyable for you and the ones your touching.

You came to complain? Insulting people with whom he played ... Tilt does not bring anything to the good. It's not so loud as tilting. I can still understand that I swore on the spot, but why come here and tell everyone about it?

Yeah, poker players have a word for that. It's called tilting.

Also, shoving preflop all in at cash games generally isn't a good idea. But well, best of luck. Still you were extremely rude, and that behavior is not acceptable. Either move on after a bad beat/losing your money and say nice hand, or don't say anything and be humble. What does complaining or getting upset at the situation going to do anyways? And you do REALIZE in 30-50 years from now... You'll be the very same 'old fart,' that you're insulting too, right?

Unsure why you think Ivey was tilted from some guy turning trips on him or why you think his shove on the future bust-out hand was influenced by that hand at all. Because you don't understand why he shoved the river doesn't mean it was not a good play.

Sounds to me like you were projecting your tilt onto another - dealing with bad beats is easy when you've played as much poker as Phil Ivey.

Get used to losing with the best hand because that's how poker works a certain percentage of the time - if you can't deal with it like a gentleman you shouldn't waste your time.

Better luck next time! :D

Who cares, He Lederer and Fergusson killed FTP and caused all of America to lose poker as a major pastime online.
He will find some other poor buggers to ripoff and cheat.
