No, I think your call was fine. I'd say you should have raised preflop (why limp with the blinds and antes that big and that stack size?), but it wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome. With the play at the table as aggressive as you say, I'd usually be happy to get it in with AKs. Had the guy who shoved made unusually large preflop raises before that?

Besides the fact you should of raised when you had a chance, the call was fine. Either way you were bound to lose. At this stage of the game there is little post-flop play.

You were short but still had a decent M. So you either raise/fold this hand or your stuck. Calling preflop is ugly. If you raise, he may call you to try and trap? But most likely he'll push anyways and then you're all-in or fold with even less chips.

As a side note...the thought of spending any length of time for $6.75 much less HOURS....omg....I feel for ya man. No way I could do it. I'd find $100 and deposit and try to run from there in other games. Good luck to ya though, and actually HUGE grats for getting that deep. Nice.

Ahhhh such kind words.

Obv AKs is a raising hand, I almost certainly did raise every other time in the tourney, but as it was folded to me i thought id try a move and just call to see the flop, or raise if raised. I just snap called the raise without thinking too much and was certainly in better shape when pushing earlier throughout the tournament.

If it was a $2 buyin i like to think i would spend longer on the decision.

As already stated, I would raise here, but you would have had to call the all in anyway. My attitude is never limp with a premium hand, but at this stage there will be a lot of pushing or folding, so I would only limp any hand I am also ready to call a raise with, so might as well raise anyway. But 6th place is indeed something to feel good about with 7000+ entries. But, as also stated, make a deposit and play the low buy ins. Unless you like the playing and not the money..... I dont mean that sarcastic either (unusual for me lol). Some people like the game and are not worried about money. But if you can survive these tournies then you should invest your time (IMO) in better payout games.

Why limp with AK?
THe guy's allin shove w AA was really odd & would not appear to be a hand like AA.... so I'd call. (but I would've raised preflop). With their shove I'd assume a hand like TT/JJ AK/AQs (but who knows in a freeroll)

playing that amount of time. getting 6th. takes some doing, congratulations. hand was played right , except u should have shoved 1st. getting the chips in 1st is always the best, on the final table. put your winning to a good use and play $2 or $3 10 player sit&go , and build a bankroll ....................joker131

Playing huge player number freerolls all night for a small return makes little sense to me, particularly if you have to work that day.

Abandoned that strategy years ago.

What ever you make will go quickly at a cash table.

I have created a bank from freerolls of around $200 from local country of origin games where numbers entering are smaller, then trying low buy-in sngs with the winnings.

The all in wasn't a mistake; however, the original call was. You should have raised originally. I'm not sure it would have mattered, but it's at least easier to fold to a 3 bet than an all in when you just limped.
