Is it +EV to put animation code in chatbox during the tourney play?

I know it is very silly question for online players!

play in merge sometime, and like to use animation code to deal with bored. Well, I usually open very few tables.

So, think that at least it is funny and at least it is a social part of poker!....we are not ice machine to keep a poker mouth all the time.

but some of my friends told me, i left some information to the table... and it is better to do nothing than anything!

what do u think? thank you.

last time i checked poker was a game. you know , fun. sometimes in the grind its hard to remember that but when it stops being fun its not because the game changed ,its because our attitude did. bad attitude usually makes for bad results so use the smilies and have fun

I honestly don't see how using smilies at the table can be +ev or -ev. I have a real job and don't grind endlessly so my opinion may be wrong.

If you're not in the hand then no you're not giving out info.
They are just smileys so no they really can't give info, well unless you use the same smiley face for the same hand.. Say you use :D for AK one hand and then you get AK again and use :D again, then you would be giving out info.
Most have the animations turned off.

typing animations into the chat box is definitely -EV, and don't ask me how i know

really dont know how you could possibly say it is definitely and that you know. i have always used them and did just fine ty at PP and FT when i was able to play there.

Usually figure time spent on chat is time one isn't focusing on the game, but, whatever works for you.

I think many of the CC'ers reading this are prolly at a loss because the subject matter is just so direct and relevant, and it goes above and beyond almost all poker strategy you typically see discussed on this site.

I mean, let's be honest, if you don't see how typing animations into the chat box equates to long term positive ROI then you prolly shouldnt be playing poker.

yeah, I understand it may be a kind of tell, but if you are able to do something in the purpose of deceive.

maybe any tell is kind of bluff or value, who knows and then in the long run [don't know how long is that timeframe] still could be +EV

you may think typing is advertisement poker partly...:eek:
