Hey CC. Has anyone played in the Ironman $30k freeroll? It looks like I am going to make Iron today and I think I'm going to go for the freeroll. Looking for some strategy suggestions or just experiences you have had in that MTT. I looked at the one from this month and it was like 577 players, a mincash is 180th for $75, so it looks like a good option.

if you are a good tourny player or you dont have rakeback then go for it ..

if you get rakeback you might want to consider taking the bonus medal option 100 medals= 16 bucks and if you play the freeroll you get about a 13 dollar hit

I do have rakeback but don't you take a hit when you spend iron man medals anyway?

if u spend them on bonuses yes...on tickets no....dont ask me why

i ususally play the silver freeroll cause i can fold into the money ...but the gold+iron i'll take the medals cause its tougher...there are less sitouts

the other reason i like the medals is because the tourny is sat afternoon and you have to opt in before the next month starts...nothing worse than taking a rb hit and not being able to play if something comes up

if u know you can play its a good deal....50 dollar value for -13 rakeback

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go for it. I read an article about rake and ironman, and it said that the best possible value for the ironman chips is to play the freerolls- all the way up until your 13th consecutive month of ironman, then the bonus chips are worth more than the freeroll entry
