Intentially slow down play on the bubble?

Anyone ever slow down close to the bubble when small stacked?

I sometimes will let the clock go all the way down before acting in hopes someone at another table will bust as well as not getting hit with so many blinds when tables are short handed.

Just curious how many other people have relied on this tactic to ensure at least getting buy-in back?

Good players will see this quite quickly and use it as an opportunity to steal your blinds and bully you as they please. Once your around 10 bb you should be pushing with any pair or suited connectors. Being short stacked and under pressure of the bubble, most players will fold as they'll assume you have a monster hand!
Doing this also gives you a much better chance post bubble as you'll then have the chips to wait for the hands you can/want to play, and you can then aim trying to get to final table rather than just making it past the bubble.
Good luck!

most tournaments will deal hand for hand when it gets close to the bubble for those exact reasons.

They should all be hand for hand when that close so they can determine who's knock out correctly.
Example 28 left and payouts start at 27
If 2 people are knocked out on seperate tables on the same hand, generally the player who had the most chips prior to the start of that hand would make 27 and get paid still.

This is standard to do if you're short on the bubble. As you will be handcuffed each hand, and thus losing chips on average per hand, it is better to stall so you end up losing less chips long term and are less likely to bustout before ITM.

I do it with a short stack, with big stack abuse the smaller stacks.

This is providing that the blinds and ante don't bust them leaving them forced to play a mediocre hand rather than one that's at least got some strength pre flop

It's always a good strategy when you are short stacked close to the bubble.

Oh yeah this was often with me ... with a short tried to get to the prize, sometimes it was possible, but good players see it and steal the blinds. So this is a lack of trying to wait and need to be protected from time to time and then break)))

The slowing down around the bubble is a huge tell and equals free chips to most players. I like to pretend I am worried about the bubble and sometimes call quite loose from my big blind if I think HJ and beyond are exploiting the bubble.

I usually do not slow down on the bubble, because I want to win, not just cash.
The only reason I might do it, is when I'm about to go all in just before the bubble. If I lose, I have more chance of being paid.

Playing on the bubble, you have to focus on the stack.
Suppose you have a small amount. In this case, it is better to play cautiously not to risk it, to wait until out opponents and act directly in the money. Although, if your opponents fold openly, it is necessary to take advantage of this and try to collect the blinds. To reach the end, push on the players. Most people are afraid to lose in front of the prize area and significantly touchout.
If you have an average stack, it is better to try in big hands not to participate, but you can try to put pressure on those who have fewer chips than you.
Short and medium stacks are engaged in survival, and for them it is very important to guarantee a minimum payout. Room for manoeuvre they have, and to risk even a pair of blinds, they will not.
If you have at the table there's a guy regularly looks on the watch is your client. Such people are the whole game watching the number of players and time until next level. They are only interested in the lower bound of the prize, and they are unlikely to actively protect your chips as long as the bubble does not burst.
Do not touch the leaders, if your stack will not be able to cause serious harm to his position, he will easily expose you, even with garbage, and try to beat. The blinds have big stacks quite a dangerous idea.
If the person is hanging on the verge of departure, and does not have even a slim chance to "see out" to the prizes, he's willing to push everything. Do not get involved in the adventure, leave short stacks leaders, and they will send them to the stands.

It`s a good strategy, if your purpose is hit in the money, but if your goal is victory, this strategy is fatal for you)

On the bubble you must play agressive if you got a biggest stack than your opponenst. But if you have small stack, you must waiting for good hand and try to be doubled

It's a horrible strategy. All you're doing is killing clock which means you're seeing less hands at a lower blind level as your stack antes down. This happened to me when I used to do this way back when.....I don't know how many times. Two or three of you will have similar 7-9bb stacks and all three of you are waiting and watching the others to see if they'll bubble. Meanwhile, one of the three has some nuts - shoves and doubles or triples up. Then the 2nd guy does it and now, you're left with 4-6bb stack.....you make an orbit ----all the while stalling. No one else budges and by the time the BB gets to you, you've anted down to just 1 bb. You go all in and you go busto.

Your opponents will be playing increasingly passive at this stage so I much prefer smart aggression in this situation.

Play for the win rather than trying to sneak into the money, it'll pay off a lot more in the long run.

Yesterday I was 21st out of 21 with the money at 20th. Got pocket QQ. Last to act, 2 players went all in in front of me. I folded. One had KK and the other a straight draw. They both would have beaten me. I was going to go all in against one but decided to wait when two went. I ended up cashing at 15th.

Slow play!?

Heres what I do!(Keep in mind im no pro)

I'm an aggresive player in general. but usually when a Tourney starts I avoid all-ins UNLESS my hand is a monster one. I slow play TO the bubble not IN it. Then once to the bubble stack size and other players stack size come into play for me. I tend to let that decide my gameplay. I usually have patience problems that cost me money, Anyone got any ideas on how I should stay focused?

Secure the cash and then gamble. Slowing down the blinds to cash is totally acceptable and well within your right.

I have done it before but i do feel bad when doing it. I used to slow down game play but now i've stopped doing it. I just feel bad because then everyone has to wait for my hand. I know how annoying it is when I want to play and someone else isn't playing or holding up the hand, so i don't do it.

I admititly have slow down if I have a low stack to get to the bubble but only because the times I have been aggressive it backfires and I end up leaving with nothing.
