I have played sit n go's for many years now but in the last year I find that the amount of times players are going allin has increased a lot.
Players seem to go allin to defend their blinds, steal blinds, with any ace or pocket pair.
I wonder if it is just me or has the amount of allins increased?
I find it very hard to play against without doing the same which to me makes sig n go's just a lottery.

Yeah.
Once the blinds go up all-in is pretty much the only logical play in a lot of situations.
I think games has gotten tougher and more European hence all the all-ins.

It really depends on what type of sngs you are playing....one table? multi table?
regular or turbo or faster?
there is a push/fold/re-push strategy (depending on limits .blinds, position) for most of these.... which we/you should learn.:D

Trying to get the most fold equity with your chips, sure they'll call your 3x raise, maybe even 3-bet you. Might as well get it all in and make them make the decision to risk a healthy portion of their chips or not.

I find that too especially the 1st hand, & more-so with mtt's. The reason being that TV poker only shows big hands.

Better to go all in with marginal hands or bluffs when you got some chips and put opponent to a tough decision if they don't have a big A or pp and steal some blinds than to wait until you blind down and have AK but the pot odds are too good for them to fold b/c you're shortstacked and get into whats basically a coinflip if they have live cards. I've busted so many big hands simply b/c the odds were too good to not play. When the blinds are big enough to steal and you can't raise without committing half your stack then the only raise you have is shove, sux when the bb snap calls with aces tho lol.

I find this true when it comes to double or nothings.

It´s normal, in sng´s you become very quick a short stack...1500 chips are not that much..

This is really good advice. Once I get to 12 bb or under this is my default play. Just as long you aren't on the bubble and there aren't 1 or 2 micro stacks trying to hang on.

Suggestion:
You might want to get your hands on a shove chart.
Also, study ICM as it is crucial in SNG's.

Try searching for a YouTube vid. for how to use SNG Wiz

Honestly feel you'd be best off to watch a few training vids. on SNG's. Matt Glitlr's vids. are quite good!

SNGS once you get down to 6-10 bbs stacks your pretty much counting on fold equity and jamming any value hands. Dynamics change alot especially in turbo Sngs you will see alot weaker value shoving ranges.

Just need to adjust your value ranges and jams, and also make your bet sizes smaller and be prepared to open fold alot with weaker holdings.

Blinds go up too fast on today's sites. On the FT, UB or UB sites you could paly good poker in a SNG. with merge or cake, it is all in or get blinded out.

Start running out of options theres nothing left but being a desperato. Though ive found that late night weekend games could mean more like a bunch of drunken fools. i have experience in that category lol.

The times when tons of people go all in is at the very beginning and the end. Don't be one of the ones going in at the very beginning because even with a double up you're not by any means golden, and it's not worth risking your tourney. On the other hand, when the blinds get uncomfortably high for you waiting for premium hands and going all in on any hand you actually play is a good move.

These all in types suck HU. Many times I am patient while other donk out and even card dead I take 1st with $200 HU against $1100. These go so fast that the blinds are still low while (6 handed especially) Im HU. Dont go all in in beginning - cant win it but u can lose it. by folding early u gain respect later and can win some bigger blinds with lesser cards.

That sums it up, the amount of respect you get is well worth it.
I've had Lag players fold to me, when they did not i took haft of their stack. :)
