It is clear that a mtt has a lot of variance, bad beats and coolers you are going to eat them yes or yes, the blinds do a lot of damage in high levels and you will need to be deep to survive. How to be deep in online tournaments? There is no choice but to take advantage of the fish and take out the chips before another one does it ... and this is where the problem comes from. I wanted to ask you first if you think I am right and second, how have you learned to deal with them? It is assumed that a tournament with value, is in which there are many weak players and it is something desirable

Patience is the word

Really like the topic title (lol)

Not sure if there is a secret formula for this, but what I would suggest is to alternate your playing style during the tournament: tight when you are new to the table, read how the opponents are playing and go for a more loose approach ( especially on the bubble - if your stuck allows it ). Be patient and don't go on tilt if at some point you lose a good hand - luck is still a good part of the game.

Hope this helps.

Early stages of a tournament there will be more fish and more free chips. It is very important to impose your will early because as the tournament goes on the field thins leaving the more skilled players.

Usually my strategy is to play quite tight at the very beginning and to be absolutely aggressive and willing to go all-in preflop when I have a strong hand such as QQ,KK,AA or AK. Works in most of the cases, but not in all of them.

Its weird I have the opposite. I like to play pretty loose in later positions hoping to make strong hands that can break those- then with a big stack wait around for monsters like aq+ jj+ which I play aggressively.

Later tournament decisions with ICM and everything can practically be made for you

Early stages i usually play tight-aggressive. There are loosy goozy players out there U can outplay. Mid stages i try to steal blinds from mid to late positions to keep my stake alive and play very aggro. When i open a hand i mostly cbet (hit or not) do get the job done.

I have found that during the early round of play, its basically a crap shoot. There will be a shove in basically every hand with players holding everything from pure crap to suited AA. I've tried playing tight and resisting the urge to call, but often when i see that my folded hand would allow me a double up, I regret it.

I try to gauge the "all in" fanatics and after observing them shove numerous times in a round, I take a shot with a hand of suited connectors or pair. I USUALLY come out on top. Of course I've also been rivered more times than a salmon swimmimg upstream.........

There is no methodology. Its truly YMMV

I just think you've got to pick your spots well to do battle, steal a little, hope you get lucky and win those important coin flips and not get unlucky and don't lose those important hands when you are the 70 or 80% favorite after the flop. That's my recipe. :)

I start out very very tight while the donks go all-in with any 2... If I've seen enough hands to be litterally sure that a player is shoving with crap again I sometimes take a shot with the higher suited connectors for an easy double up.
What helps me most in tournaments is playing tight, because once You have a tight image at the table You can win a lot of pots because people will start to fold to your bets... This becomes more and more valuable as the blinds go up... It is also helping with an occasional bluff on the river when your opponent has You beaten but a large bet will make him considder You have hit the straight / flush if the board allows for one... Very cool way to get some impressive pots in the later stages even though You missed the board !

Its easier to say than do, but always look for reasons to play the hand, ie can you steal, does the villan fold to flop stabs, does villan fold to barrelling, etc.

Me too. Suited AA, sometimes suited KK.
Unfortunately I've never played a hand :mad::D

Always playing aggressive with top hands is the only way to get chips starting
