i have been losing the past month but doing better recently and have also made a decent number of final tables. i only started playing a year ago and around 8 months ago online so i was in a similar position. my first final tables came in mtt sng's, so i would recommend playing in some of those- the 180 man ones give you the most realistic feeling of reaching a ft as the 45 man ones don't even pay all of it!
so yeah, my progression was- reaching final table of mttsng, losing heads up, then eventually winning one, and then reaching a low stakes mtt one. so i would recommend doing something similar. i don't have a clue what stakes you play but my first ones were the $1.10r turbo which usually gets 6 or 700 players and the field is fairly soft, i came 10th last night actually having not played in it for ages. also the 1000 cap $1.10 is similar in terms of a weak field and i have won that and final tabled it 3 times. so i would recommend playing the 180 man sng's then low buy ins with around 1000 players or less so that you have a chance of making a ft.
also, i often watch the poker pro's on pokerstars
, not sure if you play on this site but if you don't i would strongly recommend you do. especially the really good mtt players like pessagno, maxim lykov and mement morri. and sometimes i watch Moorman1 aswell as he is also one of the best and usually makes a few final tables a day.
and finally, a player called andre coimbra is doing a challenge on MTT's, he basically didn't play these until the start of this year. he is trying to turn $100 into $100k before the end of the year, and is at $20k so far! he has a blog which describes him playing the micro mttsng's and then as he moves up, also on youtube he has a series of great videos that are running just now, a series for like the $0.50 etc. and the one he is doing just now which is for the lowstakes and he actually wins the $1.10r $60k gtd. for $10k so watching this will give you a great feeling and insight into what it takes to win one.
this is long, hope i helped!
