The first game, I registered and opened whatsapp thinking I'd just be fine but when I came back it said I had been disqualified because of inactivity and I lost the registration fee. So I registered for another game, and I finished that one third which brought me back to my £45 bankroll. I was just wondering if I lose the next game for example, would I need to go down a level or would it be okay to just play another £1.50 game. Basically my question is, if I have £45 bankroll and I'm playing £1.50 sit and go nine players which is 30 buy ins, if I lose the first game, do I have to go down to a different buy in? Is that how bankroll management works?

IMHO - no. 30(40) buy-in is a guide line, use logiс to figure out what you should play.
losing 1,2,3 games does not mean that you have to rush down the limits, !but if you lose constantly go down a bit, maybe your are now skilled enough + some BR managment is needed

I think you're fine , unless you have tilt tendencies and a swing down can make you go crazy and put in 10£ or something, then I'd use 50 as a standard
