Just figured I'd say that. People chase crazy crap and get rewarded on the river. I've been seeing a lot of rivered straights against trips or lower straights in heads up. I know its variance but its annoying as hell.

I guess I can take comfort in knowing that most of these recent losses are due to donk suckouts and not bad play but still had to vent that it really irks me when the cards seem to reward horrible play with a miracle river card time and time again.

As you say, variance, these are the folks who fund the winning players online, so bless em.

Suck outs used to really make mad. I usually just say nice hand to people now and try to not let it bother me. The last thing you want to do is pull a Hellmuth and force the guy to tighten up. I only bad beats that get me angry now are ones where the guy had no business in the hand and hit some crazy runner runner hand.

Anyway, Keep a positive attitude and good luck.

I agree Kid, you have to overbet sometimes...if I check a flop I hit or bet low and see a flush or straight come out and they shove its my own fault for not betting. But the frustration is when you do overbet...even shoving all in sometimes and you still get someone that'll call on a draw on the turn.

Starting to overbet alot can lead to some bad habits, I love overbettors and I used to be one. I think the day I am truely happy to get sucked out on is the day I have poker cracked. The best thing you can do is label a person as a chaser and make the best of the times he hits a longshot as  moment.

I know, they are basing it on outs. An open ended str8 has 8 outs to hit to hit, a flush has more. Keep from over betting, shoving as much as you can, you will save chips in doing so and also if they do hit you can ditch your hand.
If your hitting you should be betting and not checking the flop. YOu want them to pay to see the next card, this way when they miss you get a bigger pot.
I win more hands on 1 pair, 2 pair and a set more the str8s and flush's.
But i also see less bad beats in full ring and SNGs then i do in MTTs..
Ring it's real cash on the line.
9 player SNGs top 3 get the money.

That's nothing, sunshine. Over the past few weeks I have invented whole new ways to lose. My favourite was losing when 99.9% ahead on the flop, although my kings full getting counterfeited when the fourth nine came down was pretty exciting too.

But what really narks me big time is when I design, build, bait and set a trap for a donkey and they just cannot resist that donkeybait - and they still get my stack. Will someone explain why it is that when they call with A6o to my AA it is always the 6 that makes the flush? They don't even have the decency to beat you with their ace.

Suckouts happen, especially in micro stakes. The only thing you can do is play them hard. If you have a loose player make him pay to see the next card. Don't give him a cheap one. Too many times players slow play or throw out a value bet with 2 cards out to a flush, or a board like 10 8 6 and a 7 hits. Where are your Kings now? The guy played a 69o and got you.

The best way to avoid them is to play at higher stakes cause they won't call their donk hands cause they will have more to lose then playing at lower stakes.

Suckouts happen even at the higher stakes, live or online, doesnt matter its part of the game, and it seems like a really bad advice to tell people to go play higher stakes, its like telling an average salesman to go buy a more expensive car. You play the stakes that you can aford jeez

when i put them on a draw i overbet the pot, or go all in, sure they suck out of me once in a while, but almost everyday i come out winning so i have no problem with being bad beat once in a while, also multitabling helps a lot.

This did not help me today at all, both of these were all in on the flop.
This is why I hate tournaments, lol

I hate never-folds who then get lucky. At a ring game, there can be a whole table full of 'em. Do the math. 1 good player against 5 "never-folds" who take turns being lucky is at a statistical disadvantage. You can be the best player at the table and still lose everything.

vs. draws

Keep them from chasing, try 1/2 the pot to the full pot. even over bet the pot..

If you feel a draw is in the villans range it is your job to bet an amount that will keep the draw chasing, but not give him proper odds to do so. The key is to not pay off the donk when they get there.

I hear a lot of people saying "i got sucked out on". Well if you have top pair and someone makes a backdoor flush and you pay them off thats on you not them. The only time you ever really get sucked out on is when all the chips are in the middle and your opponite called without the proper odds and he gets there.

One of the best ways to get full value for your hand is to keep draws in the hand with you value betting them and then hope they pick-up just a small piece of the river that doesn't improve them to the best hand. They can't find a fold at that point. Will they draw out sometimes sure, but thats poker. Just be sure not to give the draw proper drawing odds.

Suck-outs... try final 3 tables of the super deep stk today my KK<AJ for a huge pot that would have put me 2nd in chips all-in pre-flop. First place pays almost $4K. That Sir was a suck out!

Sometimes you feel it or have to take a chance when your playing against a player is is easy to judge another or throw out the donk word. Usually they are the ones who think they are good and aren't. Maybe they think they are so good they can't be beat. The best feeling in the world is hitting a huge hand on the river. If you have the cash to play chase chase chase, of course keep a straight head. I use to leave name callers with a rude comment once they show their colors regardless of how I was doing. Even if they were targeting someone else. I stuck up for the person. Wannabe good players don't play for the love of the game, they play for cash. I used to play a lot on pokerstars but got tired of the so called good players...lol. The ones who criticize others for playing what is a "so called" bad hand are the ones to profit from...no doubt. I now just play in three home games a week. More profitable and very fun whetehr u win or lose! Online players read toooo many poker books..lol:p

Very annoying it is you're right. However, if people was playing the ideal poker (like yourself you may believe) then most likely you're going to lose more money in the long run playing these people as opposed to the donkey suckout players.

Sometimes you can't help but get annoyed as to why they would play in such a way and indeed get runner runner but in reality after you have calmed down you should be wishing these donks keep doing it. Imagine 10 times the scenario and you lose 2 out of the 10 with big stacks but the other 8 times you gain. What an amazing Ev.

dont play Micro stakes online poker then.

Something like that...

ETA, just looked Poof's hand above in more detail and it looks like the suck-out gods don't concern themselves with buy in! Tough beats. It is always easier to take when you make a bad decision. Even easier when you are the one that sucks out!!!
