If that is what works for you, take the ball and run with it. I basically play them like an all-in-or-fold tourney.

Hey you gotta do what feels good for your game.I personally hate them and tend to just stay away from them.

well thing is i dont play it like an all in or fold thats not a winning strategy or to me atleast but the problem is i really playing them on carbon but i lost two on carbon and i wont one on bovada do you think the players are weaker/easier to beat on bovada or what and the funny part is i won the 5.3 on bovada while i lost two .10 on carbon lol so ashamed XD

Hyper tourneys are just as you would describe them: hyper. The blinds go up super fast, so basically you have to be able to try and get paid off early in the tournament with a good hand. Eventually it hits the point where everybody is very low in chips, and even the chip leader is 20 big blinds.

I have never been very good at hyper SnGs/tourneys. Hyper turbos obviously tailor to the players that are more aggressive and getting it all in with marginal hands. I much prefer deep-stack tourneys, where you can relax and get it in with the nuts.

...For what it's worth, a couple SnGs of a certain game are not nearly enough of a sample size to figure out if you are good at it or not. Also, you might want to employ some proper bankroll management with that Bovada bankroll, because if you keep playing $5.50 tourneys with a $7 bankroll you are almost guaranteed to go broke.

Short stack, i think you need to play way more than like 5 games to get a good idea of what your winrate is/ how you do in them.

I play a ton of hypers myself from like 60 to 350 but you need to recognise that the swings you will experience in these will be extremely high so again bank roll management is a must and very conservative BRM at that.

Lastly, hyper turbos are really just an exercise in end game play. Ultimately if you play a lot of tournaments youd end up in a lot of situations with 10bb effective stacks etc and hypers are just those scenarios.

yea my suggestion is to not get into them until you have a decent grasp of mtts as well as be able to handle some big swings cause they will be big with hypers.

also btw the reason i wasnt practicing brm is because their was no bankroll their to manage maybe at carbon but not at bovada their lowest tourney is like 1 dollar's so ima have to try to kick it in to high gear get my br up to 100 and then ill feel a lot safer

yea I dont mind that, when you got a small br, following brm rules is kinda impossible but the best thing you could do is find the games with the least amount of vairance but unfortunately that is not hyper turbos.

How many hyper turbo's have you played, because if it's only three then it's to early to say. Once you have played dozens then you will get a better idea if they are for you.

I think thousands might be a bit excessive. He might have gone broke before then.:bawling:

yea but for hypers in particular you cant really realize your true winrate unless youve played thousands.

I also play them as an all in or fold, except for very specific scenarios such as AA hu etc.I recommend keeping 2-3x the buyins you would for a regular sng at whatever limit your playing. Best wishes!

hyper turbos are fun if it's real cheap..like on Lock. sometimes i burn up 10 bucks playing a bunch in a row which usually ends up me breaking even. i like the tripple ups and the double ups on bovada myself. i like the beginner also where it pays fourth. They're fun but i usually get donked out by rags.

Longer blind levels favor the better players point blank. I cant imagine anyone making a living off of turbos let alone hyper turbos. Too much variance.

yes there is more variance and yes your edge is smaller but there is money to be made purely out of the amount of volume you can play which results in more vpps and thus more rakeback and bonuses etc.
