for the ICM wizards it wont be bingo probably a good return for the better players $$$$$

Ive been playing $5 hyper turbo and seem to cash the majority of the time, they are alot quicker than standard meaning you can play a lot more in a session.

they are good, but they take work to be able to beat them for decent profit. And no it's not just an ICM test, you have to really work at your game to get edges in these, and alot of it comes from making non all in plays, and plays designed to extract or save more money vs fishy players. Vs the better players you can't do much apart from play ICM/defensive NASH.

I know where this thread is going, i think we need to setup a sticky regarding hypers and other formats as it's a question that pops up way too often and there is just a shitton of misinformation in these types of threads.

I love them...when they run on the site I play at..I just wished I could play at stars and if I could that is all I would play. Why? Cause players make so many mistakes in these..calling off light and shoving way too wide, you can just make so much cash with these type of sng.

One wrong move and you lost match. As to that it is more cruel than tournaments with big stacks where you may sit, make mistakes and wait your monsters very long.

I love Hyper Turbos. It will improve your short stack skills, if nothing else IMO.

Hyper Turbo 1$ 180 players on PokerStars???

You shouldnt think in terms of how often you cash, as you could min cash alot and still make a loss a better way to look at it is ROI(Return on Investment)
ROI - Profit/Cost or Return/Cost -1

e.g. You play 100 Hyper Turbos which cost $100
Total Winnings $140 so you have made $40 profit
ROI = 40/100 = 40%

Obviously 100 game is way too short of a sample but you get the idea and 40% is way too high long term to be sustainable. Think 20% would be possible but a good target would be 5-10%

I actually played some of these before but only 44 Games

Cost Return Profit ROI
44.00 79.24 35.24 80.09%

As for original question how many times you should be in the Money?
As 27 places pay and if it was a random game you should cash 27/180 or 15%
So your targetwould be to cash more than 15%

Hyper turbo interesting tournament. But at the same time it's very heavy because of Blandy is always growing and the cards sometimes fall a good and have to play even on the middle arm. I would even say that it's no longer a tournament and test.

The road to success is long and windy, while the road to destruction is fast.
Not rocket science, yet a lot of people still get attracted to gambling and the idea of getting rich fast.

Personally, I would be one happy guy if (hyper) turbo's would be abandoned all together today :)

they can be very profitable specially lower buy in hyper turbos because some players think there is no strategy involved and shove all in with weak hands and with a good strategy you can take advantage of this players.

they are only profitable if you plan to play them long term for rakeback/bonuses. They are by no means an easy game to beat or a game where you expect a huge amount of table profits.
