Heads up you are likely to have 7 - 8 big blinds or less in a hyper turbo sit n go.

Tight players heads-up will lose a lot of money over time – so make sure you do not fall into this habit. With extreme short stacks, you can and should be pushing the majority of hands you are dealt when first to act! :icon_stud

The play is either fold or shove.

Less room for skills.

Avoid.

I actually like the HT HU SnG's

On Carbon anyway you start with $1,500t blinds 30/60

I raise a lot pre, but raises are always min-raise. Cbets more like 1/4-1/3 pot are usually fine. You have plenty of room at the start to manuever, and I wouldn't jam/fold till ~8bb.

Knowing Nash Equilibrium helped my HU game a lot. Here's a nifty chart for you.

That chart shows how many blinds your stack needs to be to make an open jam better than a fold. If your stack is equal to or less than the number in the box, then a shove is better. Keep in mind this doesn't mean automatically jam, that may be <EV than a min-raise or even a flat based on game/villain tendencies. What this does mean is that folding is clearly an error.

I just played one while typing this out to try and get a better feel for remembering how they go. I do remember now that I like to just sort of poke and prod early on, then usually seem to do best by exploiting the average villain's tendency to play too tightly once the blinds escalate. I start jamming quite wide and they basically hand me their stack one blind at a time. However, like I said I'm not just going nuts on ATC with 10+bb. I'm framing my jam decisions off that chart posted above.

NASH is a great way to plug leaks quickly, but it's not a good way to make a lot of money. Don't use it unless you are under 8BB, usually you want to play an exploitative strat.

OP- Raise the button lots, defend lots, make plays and barrell on decent boards. Your question is basically impossible to answer without writing a book. So if you are unwilling to pay for it, play a lot and post hands in the forum for review, ask thoughtful questions.

there are some great resources both here on cc and on husngs.com

i would watch a bunch of the videos they have on husngs.com and i think you will get the jist of things very quickly

the hard part is putting the villians on ranges given a very limited amt of information

Widen your range and get super aggressive. The key is to grab the chip advantage early and stick your opponent into tougher decisions as the blinds quickly creep up on them. Hyper-turbos are not for the faint of heart but they are fun as hell.

The questions is, "Why play the hyper turbo at all?"

The blinds move up so quickly you are forced to play subpar starting hands and get into too many coin flip scenarios. You main hope is your opponents don't realize this and fold too tight. If your skill level is higher than the table then you are sacrificing it for little gain, IMHO.
