Hi guys i have been playing for quite a while now, alot more live but over the last 2yrs more so online. I manage to play with + money results which i feel is quite important, but while playing every type of game and format going i have decided to concentrate on one game. And the best i can see are the Hyper 6max SnG's, even running a little bit + with a large volume this can be extremely profitable, i have dipped my toe in and have managed to make a profit. But now i am going to put in mass volume, and was wondering if people have or wanted to do something similar. Possibly discussing strategy and so on, maybe making a Skype group or just regular forum discussion, So who is up for making some $ and hopefully alot of FPP's also ? Leave a message on what you think of the idea ! !

Also guy's if there are a few interested, could start a home game on pokerstars. For Hyper's and also other games people think it is possible to make a profit playing ! !

how many of these have you played?

The variance must be massive as mostly luck not skill if you play over 5K games and show good roi/profit then maybe worth it

"Awice' got supernova this year in less than 40 hours playing stuff like that.

But I think you need a computer like brain to do that seeing as he would play FIFTY tables at a time!

I got a computer like brain. Unfortunately it's the 1988 model. :(

I have only just started , i played 800 games in 3 days last week. And ran at a decent rate i increased the initial starting amount by just under a 1/3. Although i have quite a few fpp's, and was going to eventually use these in the Sunday storm Hyper sat's. I think these are a great bankroll booster about 235fpp's top 2 get a ticket which i would then take the T$ or use for buy-ins to some MTT's not totally decided as yet. But as from tomorrow i hope to be playing everyday from now on and 500 games was the figure which could be easily met, which has me at goldstar from the start, and as Randall said supernova is only 1 or 2 levels ($3.50 or $7 buy in) away, easily the best option for me to get anywhere near supernova. So will post and let you guys know what is happening, also one of my best games is O8 and i have not used these as yet, as the variance will be even greater i imagine ? As rhombus says the variance is huge i had a run of 30 games were i was flipping or ahead and lost everyone in a row, Although gladly i did then go on a upswing over the next 40 games were i had 18 1st and 11 2nd giving me just under 94 buy ins (-40 cost so +54) , and i think there can be even bigger swings than this but i must say i have a smile on my face while playing these, they really are great fun. As long as you can put up with a shove from 7-3 beating your Pocket Kings they really are enjoyable. I often burst out with laughter after watching a hand ! And this must count for something as if i have been playing a MTT for 5 hrs and i loose against 7-3 , It really does not make me laugh one bit !. Any good idea's or suggestions please leave a message thanks to the guys who responded, hope you all run like God's. Good Luck Guy's ! ! !

hyper turbos are difficult to master and they can turn to real all in fests. But they do get over with pretty quick.

I started with a roll of $1.70 and began grinding the $0.11 6 man hypers on 888 as an excersise in BRM and to learn about variance and volume. I'll tell you what, I started off posting a pretty decent ROI (although not enough data to get a real ROI) and I thought I knew about variance before this. But after the down swing and watching every better hand/racing hand lose I started to get a real idea of just how massive variance can be :p

I'm glad I did do this excersise though, I feel I learnt a lot from it. Oh and if you haven't already worked it out I'm a realitive begginer which is why the small roll

I try to play these on Bovada but I think the collusion rate is too high to overcome and they don't seem to care. I miss Stars

I play a lot of the .11 SNg turbos on Carbon. I can usually make $2-$4 a day off them.

I have a friend who is a SNE on Stars and plays these almost exclusively. He is a marginal winner at the actual game, but the SNE status is where he makes the real money each year.

These games are so addictive.
They can be profitable, but the problem is when a bad run sends you into tilt.
Often quite costly.

That is a very good point, tilt is often the downfall of players who might otherwise win. It also causes winners to win less.

A good way to look at it is that if you can avoid tilting, you're making more money because plenty of opponents that you face will be tilting themselves. So it's another area where you can find some extra edge.

I played like 10 tonight. I finished second place twice and won 2. I am in the process of testing out a few ideas. So far it is working some of the of the time.
It seems the key is have card strength and timing.

Timing
You raise over limpers. The more the better.
You raise into the blinds.
As long you can do this and get folds a few times, even just twice it keeps your chip stack up.

I am testing out certain card strengths and how low I will go.

I think that in some instances any Ax or Kx will do and all pairs can be good.
Of course if I get a premium hand I smile and shove it.

My main issue currently is what to do if I get into second place and what card strengths and spots are worth shoving.

I also wonder how should I play if the actions gets to the flop.

I know what you mean, you really have to forget about them. Even when your AA loses to a 92 shove, the variance is huge but if you have a solid strategy it will all come good. To combat the variance you have to put in a huge amount of volume. In one week i played 3,000 games but i looked at certain blocks of around 300 and i was getting killed by the variance, then when it came back inline a massive upswing, i ended up +93 buy-in's so i was pleased with that as i have loads of fpp's, which i can play in the Sunday Storm Hyper's or similar games. So it has been really good but as i say if i had the 300 block to start with i most probably would not have continued, so please guys put in the volume ! Carbon would it be possible to play such a large amount, the thing with star's is at stakes of $15 and below the games start every 10 secs it seems. No matter what time of day, i am going to try to build and move up and to play 3,000+ games a week is not that difficult so multiply by the fpp's for which ever game i play and Platinum should be the minimum ???? So this has got me really really excited about the possibilities .. Good Luck guy's keep in touch with how your progress is going..

P.S. zEric7x i try to play tight for the first couple of level's, or until 2 players exit, then open my range. Any pair is normally good to reshove, also as stacks are small if you c bet with nothing and they shove you waste chips, what i like to do if the flop looks dry (no 2 broadways ect) is check raise this seems to be a very successful play , try it when the situation rises. Also as you will know when in position the amount of player's who make the C-Bet then give up is massive so floating is also very profitable , it is all about knowing who you are up against. As i have large database know and also the notes i have made, loads will stack off with any Ax, so before playing just open up some tables and take some notes on who is currently playing you will be surprised how often you will play against these players. Good Luck ! !

I will usually just be playing the same games at any one time , like Hypers i will just play them and no cash, never Hyper's and cash at the same time. But i do not mind playing MTT's and Hyper's or Cash especially early in MTT's as the play early in these is mainly Tight style, so quite simple to play . If i get deep then i will stop the other games as you will need to start trying to make moves and concentrate on your opponents ..

Yes i know you dont take them too seriously, and you play for fun . Although everyone likes to win. You do have a solid game, no doubt and i think you could do ok from them. What are the other buy-ins at that site ?
